Too many problems

It is always a shame to admit defeat, but I`ll be realistic today;
There is no way to fix all the problems that the game’s climax has right now, especially when you fix one problem and 2 more pop up.

At least most of the game seems to work, so I`ll make the images for everything on display and see what I can fix after that.

Maybe this is too ambitious

a trial for an NPC jury with 9*6*4 dialogue options can get a bit too much…

I think I`ll have to keep it at a Rock-Paper-Scissors system and focus a bit on the art for now,
else I wont have anything nice at all.

Ive spend all time building the framework for the game now, and I figured its time for a break.

All I have now are walking cubes that can interact with other cubes until time runs out, with a lot of pieces of code switching on and off in the background, but if you work too long on one thing you`ll make too many mistakes.

Small to-do summary;

  1. Write dialogue options for the game ending
    1. Program said dialogue options
  2. images
    1. character sprites
    2. GUI
    3. houses
    4. interactable objects

at least I can say that this game has the clearest instructions of any gamejam game I personally made, haha!

I normally don`t post updates like these, but I figured to give it a shot.
After all, what harm can it do?

Since I usually end up with gamejam games that lack any type of interface, I figured to start off with just that; the framework around the actual game.
Naturally I already brainstormed about the game itself and what it will be like, but it is nice to have my menu’s done for a change, even if its still all placeholder art.


With this out of the way, its time to get that actual game going!

When you’re struggling through the bugs and errors, only to complete the basic “gameplay” within the first day?

Time to ditch these programmer’s graphics and to get some nice pixels in there.
