I know I will win something…

… Because I think I have the longest game title ever for a LD game, haha.

Overall I’m glad with how things turned out. I knew I wouldn’t have much time to work on it, but I didĀ it any ways, oops. I think it showed me just how far I have come as a game developer now with just how fast I could implement features.

I’m calling this my “Star Wars: Battlefront” of my LD games, because I nailed down most of the mechanics I wanted, just don’t have that “content”. Well always room for DLC šŸ˜‰ And I would love to keep working on this idea a bit.

The early comments are all sounding good so far. People are enjoying the voice a lot it seems. The accent I used was somewhere between Goose from Top Gun and Mike Ditka so it is kinda silly sounding. Also glad people are picking up on the little things I added like the water sprays when you fly low.

The gameplay needs a lot of balancing, and some many things I want to add, so maybe you will see more from this in the future I hope. Many great games out there already in the compo, and looks like the Jam might have even moreĀ stellar ones.Ā Go play, and enjoy!

Well its a sad thing to say, but I knew I would be pushing it to try and finish this. And in the end I wouldn’t be happy with what I could have done. I hope to play many cool games soon, but you won’t be playing mine.

Basically you would have played as bowser and had to kill many tiny running mario’s.

Here is my rough attempt at making something in 3d. It has no head… :/

Stretch goals would have been to have different kinds of mario’s, Fire breath, and a number of other upgrade ideas I had.

Thought it would have been cool trying to stop 30+ mario’s trying to hit that axe at once, but we won’t see that dream come true in the next 24 hours.

And probability like 50 other people are doing the same thing anyways…

LD32 Done!(?)

Well its “finished” I guess.

Go play it here:Ā http://ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-32/?action=preview&uid=42108

Lots of things I wanted to do with this one but just didn’t have the time. I was amazed how much I got done in the last 10 minĀ when IĀ forgot to do a title and win screen. (And then had them swapped for a bit. whoops!) I also didn’t have time to write a new button script so I made use of my in-game level switcher with my player character off camera falling into the trigger. haha.

Lots of fine tuning I missed out on for sure. Hit boxes are deff a bit too big on the bad guys, and everything could have used a bit more smoothing out. The last level is also made a bit too hard, but in a good way I think. I was planning on having a checkpoint on the longer levels, but no time for that.

Will be interesting to see how people react to this idea, and maybe I could take it farther. Love me some LudumĀ Dare! Been looking forward to playing other people’s ideas almost more than making one this year. So back to the judging! (I’m like the coolest right now 8) )

P.S. Concerning the Key Note this year. I liked his message, (and would have loved to try something new or different this time; if I had the time that is) but wasn’t a fan of the delivery. Let’s make it more exciting next time LD.

P.S.S. I should be available for any keynotes in the future šŸ˜‰

Build Done, Now to Test.

Well I finished up my game, now I just have to test it.

I was kinda depressed so I decided to make a kind of depressing game. I guess I shouldn’t call it that, but it is more of a feelings game than a fun game. I’m not sure I can call it “fun”, but it isn’t not fun either. It has been growing on me a bit, but I think it is kind of simple, and I have seen so many great game ideas already.

I’m most proud of the music. I took a ton of different samples and mix them down into about 19 tracks as of now that will fade in as you play, and it will be different each time you play. It makes some interesting sounds that I hope go along with the gameplay and make you feel something, anything.

Diffrent parts of the game will change as you play depending on how you are doing, but there isn’t really an end to my game. You can’t win or lose, and while it is endless, you will get a score at a point. It will be interesting to see how people take this game, and has been a fun experiment so far.

Can’t wait to play all the games that are more fun than mine!
