First LD Post Mortem

Sooo, here it goes, a first time Ludum Dare’s conclusions:
1, Have an art guy. It’s quite hard to make good art (well, at least acceptable) without the necessary skills and I didn’t brush up on that the time before. Big mistake. I’ll have to do that next time.
2,  Apparently time limits and people to work with really adds a lot of motivation. Recommended!
3, Write some more effective code. At the moment it’s incredibly ugly and is really concentrated to one place. Findings things is such a pain,  I’ll have to divide things between files.
4, If you are tired, double-check the code written. You just might put ; after an if or write one too many zeroes into a number. So much time wasted finding and correcting these later

5, LUDUM DARE IS AWESOME!

First Ludum Dare finished!

My (our, I mean me and another guy) first ever flash game is finished! 1 hour before the deadline, I call that good.

I’ll probably do a post mortem tomorrow as I really have to sleep now… Haven’t done so too much in the last 3 days.
Going ahead of tomorrow’s post: I’ll really need an art guy or learn to use some software.

Anyway, good night!

EDIT: I placed the music on longer repeat after the deadline, it was a typo. Sorry!

Final day!

Thank you Windows 8 for having FreshPaint. Makes really cool graphics imo.
For everything else, Windows 8 is horrible.

Second day’s night coming in

There’s still one more day left for the Jam…
I really have to make that character now.
GameOver
Anyway, that’s the game over screen (you’d never have  guessed, huh?).

The game’s concept is that you die in 10 seconds… but the things you do stay.

Good Morning, Jammers!

Moving on onto the daunting level design part… a bit boring, but it’s getting together. It’s still missing the obstacles and things that can kill you.

LevelOneBackground

On a sidenote: green squares usually don’t go to hell (unless they’re Adolf Greensquare or something.) I might have to draw a character today.
