At the tender age of six I was already designing board games and trying to build video games on our C64. My passion for interactive entertainment has only grown since.

I love to create.

When I wasn't playing, I was busy building something; Whether by writing, sketching or making music. I'm driven by creative expression, no matter the medium or field.

I love people.

I take great pleasure in making new friends and collaborating with them. The exchange of views and knowledge inspires me tremendously. That's why I talk a lot.

Here’s a little timelapse I did of my Ludum Dare 31 progress. It shows you how I built our game The Agency. At least the first two days of it. Unfortunately I forgot to record the third day. Regardless, I think it’s a fun look at game development. I hope you enjoy it.

As for the game: We came up with a pretty interesting twist on the “Entire Game On One Screen” Theme and I’m mostly happy with the result. A few things could have gone better, as always. For example: I think it takes too long until the player reaches the first really interesting point in the game.

Ah, you never stop learning.

We’ve finished our Ludum Dare Jam game yesterday. It’s called The Agency and you can rate it here:

A second day starts and after getting most of the coding done yesterday I’ll now spend most of the day on the level design and the artwork, while the others do audio and voice work.

In the meantime, here’s a bunch of inspirational material we collected yesterday that will help me build the slightly oppressive urban world. You might be able to catch bits and pieces of me doing that over on our Twitch channel SharkbombStudios.

So… Connected worlds. For me that means an overworld and a shadowy underworld and the things that connect them.

The idea was to have a pretty simple game and then spend a lot of time on art. I really wanted to play around with some sweet low poly style for a while. Stuff like this:

I’m not as far as I wanted to be because I initially struggled with the Unity Thirdperson controller. I fought with it for a few hours before I gave up and build something new from scratch. Chalk that one up to learning experience.
