I finshed the game, i think, now i am searching for bugs and stuff. It’s not an amazing game by any stretch of the imagination but it’s my first Game Maker game and my first Ludum Dare game so i am happy :)

You move with WASD and shoot with the mouse 😀

I added sound effects and some music to the game, i has been easy to add them by coding, but it didn’t work at first so i searched for tutorial…guess what? They all did the exact same way. I figured out it had to be some kind of configuration and only than i saw that “All configurations” button, i clicked there and found “Use the new sound engine” so i tried unchecking it and by magic it all started to work 😀

Good but it could have been better

I had to go out for dinner so i lost some time, although i managed to fix the timer problems. Now after 10 decimal seconds, the game ends and after 10 binary seconds (2 decimal :D) if you don’t kill, it’s game over.

Even if this is my first attempt at Game Maker, i have to say  that i’m not doing that much bad, i’m using only the coding and not a single bit of drag&drop, i find the coding way easier 😀

Tomorrow i want to make a basic UI and a main Menu, after that i’m going to make some better graphics and in the end some bug fixing and design changes to not make an easy game and not a too much hard one either.

Still tryng to figure out how to make the timers work

I’m still in the core programming phase so the graphics aren’t the best XD

I’m having some problems and the internet isn’t as helpful as i want, there are a lot of drag&drop tutorials, but i’m doing all coding so it is can of harder to figure out why the timer isn’t working properly. The deadline is closer and i still have so much thing to do.

I hope i can make at least the core mechanics after dinner.

This is my first attempt at the LudumDare compo, and guess what? I decided to use GameMaker, a software that i never used before XD

The concept is easy, i’m making a twin stick shooter where you have to survive for 10 seconds…it seems so lame…so there is going to be a twist, you have to kill something at least every 2 seconds, why? because 2 = 10 😀

 

I am adding a screenshot to make the post more attractive XD
