Not only is this the most complete LD entry i’ve finished, but it’s done HOURS before the end!  I’m so proud of myself, and the game. I had time to polish a lot of it and add a ton of juiciness, hope you enjoy!

In Flight of the Stars you fly the last offensive starship to protect earth, with a rechargeable energy wave as your only weapon. Frantically avoid enemies and their projectiles while building up time until your next shot! It takes 10 seconds for the energy wave to charge, do you have the nerves to fly the last starship on the flight of the stars?

Flight of the Stars is my Ludum Dare 28 entry. This game was made within 48 hours, and all the art, sound, and programming was done/made by myself!

::IMPORTANT:: If it isn’t registering that you pressed Space or Enter (or any other keys) at the start, just click inside the game window, which will fix it.

What a weekend! How did everyone else do?

While I LOVED everything I got done this weekend, I’m glad I can relax and rest!

I got MUCH more added into my game this LD over last time, but there were still things I wanted to add.
I went with a shmup because I really enjoy them, I just need to get better at making them!

I used Samsara, the circle of life, death, and rebirth, as the title and inspiration for my game. You have a ship that “reincarnates” a version of you from 10 seconds ago. But don’t worry about the reincarnation dying, every 10 seconds your ship will try to reincarnate a new version of you if you don’t have a reincarnation already!

Go have some fun with Samsara!

Returning gamedev here.

Oh man, I’ve gotten SO much done today, even with a late start! I’m on track to be done tomorrow, because I only have 2 more features to implement before I can start polishing it! (And adding the menu system)

Got enemies and other ships working!

Got enemies and other ships working!

I’m only worried about music, I’ve only made music for 1 or 2 other games of mine. Well, I’ll get around to it!

Good luck to everyone else! This weekend has been great so far!

I’m all finished!

“At Least I’m Alive”  is DOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!

Amazingly, I finished this thing. I had to cut quite a bit out, but I made the deadline, and kept BOTH endings!

It’s an exploration and discovery game. The gameplay is a tad short due to time, also I had to remove climbing, but its still fun!

I will definitely be doing next weeks Ludum Dare! I’ve been doing the onegameamonth.com challenge, and this is just more practice/experience!

I won’t be making a warmup game due to school and other projects, but expect me next weekend!

I know a few languages but right now my main/favorite toolset for creating games includes

  • Hardware: Battlestation of a computer, Guitar, Galaxy Nexus & iPhone 4 for testing purposes
  • Languages & tools: Html5/JavaScript, CocoonJS, Clay.IO
  • Library/framework: Jaws.js
  • Audio: Guitar w/m-audio interface, sfxr
  • Art: something bad i’ll lump together from photoshop
