Im in – 8th time around

Wednesday, November 25th, 2015 10:29 pm

So no I haven’t completed anything here 8 times but it’s still fun to participate without submitting anything.

Don’t know what tools I want to use but some I will use for sure:

PyxelEdit

Paint.NET

SFXR || BFXR

a lot of semi colons

So I had – at about 03:45 two days ago – an idea for a game; a little survival game set in the Canadian wilderness (As a Canadian myself it has to be in Canada >:) ).

Mainly working on the environment but I did add a building mechanic (you build that log cabin) still extremely rough… Trees need work lots of work.

Anyways after having friends over suggesting things I should do with it, I ended up with a decent winter-scape

Current Features:

Realtime snow buildup… (That was a &!#@% and it still doesn’t work 100%)

Volumetric lighting

Building

Resource Gathering

Going to add:

Animals (Wolf, Bear, Moose, Elk, Deer, Beaver, Fish)

Weapons ?

Streams/Rivers/Ponds

Squarzi is now on GreenLight

Crashing Bug fixed!

Monday, April 28th, 2014 4:41 am

After a good nights sleep I figured out what I did, in my haste to start up I forgot to try catch the game setScreen() class, and call a super.dispose(), making all those access violations!

Game should be good to go!

Nith The Surface!

Controls: A,D,SPACE,E,CLICK

Use e when near a chest to open it, chest’s give you a random chance weapon or health. Current weapon will be over ridden with the new one.

Goal of the game:

Evade and kill all the purple demons while trying to make it to the end gate, you’ll know it when you see it!

Thanks for playing,

Demetry!

Ok first off there are a few Access violation bugs with the JVM running it on JRE 8.0, I would love to know the fix for that but I could not fix it – will update it if bug fix is found!

Well Nith is going very well what I have, procedurally generated map, with random chests with random loot, imp enemies (need to add some more for variety) a player with animations and sprites, a physics system I made, lava etc.

What to add – well more enemies, weapons, particles?, etc

libGDX Project Template for IntelliJ 13!

Monday, April 21st, 2014 1:21 am

So I got sick and tired of writing the same splash code creating the same build configurations over and over and over so I finally decided to create a project template complete right down to the menu screen class!

Place in C:/Users/<username>/.Idea13/…

Download it from my github

GitHub

or

Dropbox

If you find it useful then great!

Cheers,

Demetry

p.s.

You’re going to have to change the package name to your own, originally intended this for my own use 😛

Well, I’ve been on the Tractor since 6:00 Am, and well I doubt I can make a playable game in 4 hours so, I’m just gonna switch to the Jam which is good, because I can employ the help of a friend for the graphics and audio. Good luck to all the compo’ers

Well End of the Day For Me

Saturday, August 24th, 2013 11:15 pm

So I’m calling it quits for the night, its already 2:11 Am, and I got to get up early, so heres a few screen shots of a total of 6 hours of work…

day2 pic1 day2 pic2 progressNot much to show for it, but I was mainly fiddling around with making my own Asset handling classes, since LibGDX does a poor job of that, thats one thing slick did better than libGDX with. Any way, goodnight all, and good luck!
