I just started a second part-time job and have school deadlines crashing down on me, so OF COURSE I’M IN. Seriously, who misses a Ludum Dare for other deadlines? It’s either “Darn, I have something I cannot reschedule that weekend” or it’s “I’M IN!”.

Code: Unity/C# with the iTween library

Art: Your guess is as good as mine, but likely primitives, photoshop, and maybe softimage if I do any 3D work

Sound: Likely sfxr, if I don’t decide to record sounds from my double bass

    Music: Probably not :(

Food: Hmmm, we’ll see what appears in my shopping cart on Friday

    Good luck everybody!

    Who’s in?

    I’m in!

I managed to get the whole weekend off, and this LD starts two days after my last school project is due :D

Code: I’m going to use this compo to teach myself some Unity, likely with C#.

Art: Don’t expect anything remotely good >_> I’m bad at 3D, but expect Blender unless I can come up with something better. 2D work in photoshop/illustrator or equivalents, depending on where I’m working from.

Sound: SFXR for effects, MadTracker likely if I make any music. Or if my roomate still has that mic I might record some stuff with my upright bass…

Food: At least one really healthy meal to kick things off with, followed by an equal measure of healthy food and junk food. Sweet potato chips count as healthy, right?

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to balance this board game for class…

    Food and design time!

For some reason, I always eat healthy during Ludum Dare…

    Grilled chicken, broccoli, and rice.

Bit Collective folk – you can find me hanging on the BC skype room.

These things always fall one week before when I’ll have a free weekend! Still, I’m in.

    Tools (Windows, OSX, and Linux):

Flash (either Flashpunk of the new Flixel)

(Unless, of course, I decide to do it in HTML/PHP for some reason.)

    24-ish hours in!

A bit over halfway! Here’s the screenshot of the current state: be warned, it’s ugly. But it’s 2/3 of the way to having gameplay ready, then I can spend the waning minutes of the compo working on polish.

Ugly, but a RTS/Puzzle hybrid based upon finding friends and avoiding foes.

Ugly, but a RTS/Puzzle hybrid based upon finding friends and avoiding foes.

The game is based upon the idea of discovering friends, and not being discovered by enemies. There’s a pseudo-plot to add if I have time, but that’s looking like a post-compo thing. The repeating shape is your beacon, cast out into space.

In it to hopefully do ok.

I’m in. First timer. Sadly, I didn’t take work off so I’ll be working two 8-hour shifts during the 48 hours (which also requires sleep, effectively cutting my time in half), but I’m going to give it my best shot anyways.

Flixel (in Xcode, FlashDevelop, or Vim depending on which machine I’m on)

Pixen for pixels (maybe some Photoshop thrown in)

LMMS for music (if I get that far)

    SFXR/CFXR for sounds

If I finish, I’ll be thrilled. If not, I’m in it for the experience :P
