Text boxes are working. They’re all handwritten, so they’re just sprites.

Now I just need to design some more puzzles, record sound effects and if I can, create some music.

I’m too intimidated to continue right now, so I thought I would take a break.

I added ramps – they give some sort of vertical navigation to the game.

I’ve also come up with some sort of a narrative, really basic stuff that’s just there to let the mechanics speak more clearly ūüėČ

So partway through the game the player actually loses the ability to shape-shift. I most likely will not restrict the player for too long, but I think the game will be stronger overall for this change of pace.

This means that I have to design puzzles which allow for both of the shapes to complete them on their own.

Here’s what I’ve come up with so far.

It’s not as puzzly as before, and it’s much more difficult to design¬†so I probably wont do much more.

Another kind of puzzle, I can already feel the limits of the current mechanics. I will probably keep these as simple shapes.

Also, a mock up for a sort of narrative.

Seeing everyone’s progress in doing really advanced things with art and programming makes me feel cheap for just using basic shapes and built in physics in Unity.

Just checking in,

Here’s some gifs of what I have so far. Right now¬†i’m basically trying to take 3 simple mechanics and push them as far as I can. Art will come later.

I’m not sure about the title so far but i’m thinking of the old saying “square peg in a round hole”.
