Posted by
Friday, June 23rd, 2017 1:47 am

Hey I usually do the LDs and I have found the community to be pretty awesome here. I am hoping to join the Unreal Engine 4 Jam and I am looking for team mates. I have recently learn UE4 and I can do C++ as well as basic animated characters in blender. I’ve done 13 jams so far and have lead many groups. If you are interested in joining please leave a message below. The jam starts on the 29th

I’m out

I’m sorry to say that I’m out of this Jam. I have had a rough week of work and I had to break up with my girl-friend yesterday, and all I want to do this weekend is play video games and watch youtube. I’m really distraught because I have pretty much done every LD for almost 3 years, except for one LD that was happening at the same time as a local Jam. Personally I’m not sure what this means for me. I skipped another week long Jam last month, but it made since because I did a Jam earlier that month. However during that jam earlier that month, I felt I really did not hit all the goals I could have. And the last Global Game Jam I went to, I slept a loooot during it, but I did have a lot of technical issues. Have I just been tired? or is this simply the inset of the eventual dredge of growing up and getting busy? either way. I really wish you all a great LD. I hope you all have a happy Jam and finish a really cool game. Thank you. I hope to see you all next LD!
Jam on!

My only current pre-jam rituals are posting Bob-Marley’s Jammin’ somewhere, and then being at my computer an hour before hand to Gush about my excitement. What’s yours?

Pixel artist needed to do backgrounds on project

We’re looking for a Pixel artist for Backgrounds for an old school Sierra style point n click game.

ref 2
We already have a animations artist, and a writer, and a programmer at the moment, but are looking to cut the art amongst 2 people. The project will be rev share, but will likely not make a lot so applicants should join for their passion for working on a project, not for money.
If interested you can e-mail me at sbtanker@gmail.com
or reply here, and we can tell you more about it.

Question about scores

Posted by

So I’m looking at my scores for my jam submission and I have a # for my rating which I understand means lower is better. But is the score out of the jam submissions? Or all submissions?

I think I’m out.

I went to bed last night feeling a little tired. I usually pull through the last night of a jam but I felt sleepy so I tried to sleep for 4.5 hours. When I woke up my throat hurt and I realized I was sick. My family has been sick. I ended up sleeping more and now I still feel kinda crappy. I might put in some last details because I’m done with level design and I want some reviews for my game but I also kind of don’t want to put out a game in this state, even as a jam game. Maybe it’s developer pride? Anyways I might just fix the game up post-jam. It needs about a day of work to be done, so yeah. I think I’m out. Good luck everyone!

Okay, so I don’t have a lot of time. I’ve got a lot of my project done. On my current schedule I need to finish all the levels by 5AM (in 3 hours). After that It’s all Polish polish polish, and bug catching.

Anyways, have some glitches of boulder plants.

So I’ve got my idea for my LD game. It might be one other people are doing. Hope not. I’m using the theme “Shapeshift” by having it so that the character can shift the world around them to parallel universes to get through each level. Levels will be puzzle based and short and every few levels there will be a small chat sequence to continue and break up the story. I think I’m aiming to do 9 levels with 1 starting story bit and then another story bit every 3 levels. (again these are just character art with text displaying). I know there are games like this already where you change the world around the player, but something about this idea has stuck out to me, and I’m thinking I will be having a good jam this time. We’ll see. Head in the game!

Doing a solo submission this LD. I have to work a bit during one of the days, and if I can’t think of any ideas I might just use the time to work on a prototype I have. Also super excited about the possibility of getting a game dev job. Fingers crossed on that. Anyways, Excitement!
Oh, and I’ll go ahead and post Bob Marley’s Jammin’ as I always do.

Looking for more team members

Looking for more more Dev to join our team for this next LD.
We’ve got:
Me – Leader and programmer/designer
Ginger – amazing artist
Casey – 3d artist and programmer

We need one more player to start our team. We are looking for either an artist (preferable 2D) or a programmer (we’re using either Unity w/C# or GameMaker).
We are also looking for an audio artist or someone with audio skills for doing music and possibly sound effects generation. You don’t have to be super good at this, just passionate about it.
Here’s an example for a game made last jam by Ginger, and I, and a few other peeps : http://ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-33/?action=preview&uid=57692
If you’re interested, please leave a note below. :3
