I’m in for a third time! Look – it says so in our Winnie the Pooh calendar.

Had a tough week looking at code for project e1e10 so going to let of some steam, panic and write some frantic code for the weekend.

Will be using

Engine: Unity
Gfx: Illustrator / Max
SFX: Bfxr
Music: Garage Band / My Guitar

So, that’s my second Ludum Dare and my third game made as part of a speed run.

Thanks to everyone for all your tweets, posts and general daring. It’s great to see #LD48 trending and so many people getting involved with this thing we all love. Really helps when your looking at some awful bug in your game and you want to do anything else but find it!

Special thanks to my partner, without her understanding and supply of peanut butter on toast, none of this would be possible.

So, I’m in for my second Ludam Dare. Really enjoyed last summers and did Indie Speed Run over Christmas with Bumpkin Brothers. So Looking forward to making my 3rd jam game and 2nd solo project.

I’ll be using Unity as the engine, with 2D toolkit if required. And as always the excellent and epic iTween library.

Illustrator and paint.net will be used for graphics.

Music will probably be Garage Band but I may one day carry out my threat to play guitar.

Right.. Off to lay a floor so I’ve got plenty of time next weekend.

No wait. It’s not over at all. I get to enjoy everyone else’s games now. But I’ll be doing more of that tomorrow after I’ve had a good nights sleep.

I’m really pleased with what I’ve come up with over the last 48 hours. I may feel differently after some sleep but at the moment it feels like some of my best work. I didn’t think I’d do it and had to cut back on what I had planned due to a bug that set me back a few hours. I think I got the ratio between content creation, planning and actually making the game a bit wrong. Spent too much time over-complicating the engine and it has features I didn’t have time to actually implement and test properly.

Thanks for all the support, it’s been great fun. Here’s to a more relaxing time trying out everyone else’s work.

I’ve put together a time lapse of my last 2 days watch it here!

But now… to bed! Because I have become a tramp.

Well. Here I am in the middle of my first Ludam Dare and I’m not feeling to bad. I was aiming to get a good nights sleep and not worry about the theme until the morning but my son woke up at 2AM and I was foolish enough to check the theme.

After a few hours of non-sleep and a freakish dream in which Robert Smith of The Cure asked me to play drums in a show tomorrow (I don’t play drums) I got to work on trying to come up with a game.

I’ve got to say that I’m riffing on the theme somewhat, but I’m doing what feels right for me. Hopefully it will be self explanatory. Well, if it’s not I’ll post about it.

Anyway, I have a basic level and the underlying engine in a semi-working state and I’ve spent the last couple of hours away from code and working on the music. Time for some tea and back to it.

Well. I think I’m as ready as can be. I’ll be able to answer that after the weekend. Going to me trying to relax this evening and resist staying up into the early hours to see what the theme is… but we’ll see what happens.

Just want to say a big thanks to my family who are being really supportive and arranging their lives around me this weekend so I can take part. Thanks guys xxx.

Signed up and already nervous!  First time taking part in anything like this so looking forward to the experience.

I’m predicting that my creativity will jump out of the window and I’ll spend the weekend shivering under my desk.

But I’m looking forward to it. Whatever happens it seems like a great community here and I’ll learn something and get to hear about some cool things being made and get to play them.

Going to be using

Development: Unity3d, possibly with 2d toolkit and A* pathfinding, if required.

Art: Photoshop, Illustrator, 3ds.

Sound: No experience so in this area, so me on my guitar, if anything.
