I’m in, as usual!
Also as usual, I have no particular thing in mind, even as far as tools. I just wanna make a fun or interesting (or both) game.
Bored and anxious while waiting for the theme to be announced? Since I assume you’re a game fan, you might want to watch this video I made this week about my software that automates the playing of Nintendo games (it’s like a simple general-purpose NES AI). I think it will entertain you. The site has the original video (which you should watch first if you haven’t) and paper and now executables for windows so you can try it out yourself.
I finished my game! Details are on the entry’s page: One of the best birthdays.
My biggest regret is not finishing the in-game music (various boring and frustrating technical hurdles ate my time). But there is the somewhat catchy guitar theme song, at least.
I can’t wait to play all these games!!
Hello, I am Tom 7. This weekend I will deposit my minerals onto Ludum dare #24!
I’ve made lots of LD games before. Try Is Lands?, Disco? Very!, Priority Cats, Escape Cod, and T in Y World, for example.
I will probably work in Flash and probably use some basic self-written libraries and tools like crap fake physics and inexplicably-tedious map editor and incorrect preloader which only shows the preloader graphics after the game has loaded. But I really try to not put anything in my head before the contest starts.
Love you forever,
Tom 7
I’m Tom 7. I plan to participate in #21. I’ve done it three times by myself with Is Lands?, Disco? Very!, and Priority Cats, plus a few times in jams (producing very weird but charming results). I will probably use Flash again (and my custom physics/bitmap graphics library) but you never know. I have no pre-conceived notions about this contest but I am pretty jazzed!!
I recorded a timelapse video for the weekend, with integrated webcam for the first time.

Guys I did it! I was good about continuously reprioritizing throughout the day (you can see this in my timelapse which I’ll post tomorrow), so I was actually done with about an hour to spare, just tweaking and putting together a pixely preview:

Good times as usual! Now we need some beer over here.
I really don’t like posting until I’m done with the game, because I don’t like spoilers. I’m going to try it this time anyway. Fortunately the title screen isn’t much of a spoiler (especially with out the interactivity) and it’s pretty much all I got done so far (except for writing a theme song), so:
Hi, I’m still Tom 7. I think I will participate in Ludum Dare #20!
I entered LD17 (Islands) with “Is Lands?” and LD19 (Discovery) with “Disco? Very!“. I also made some very weird games with friends like “Bouncecrab 2” for LD jams. Anyway, I’ve carved off the weekend to do #20. I will probably use Flash again (I just love how playable it makes the games for everyone), but I really prefer to have no preconceived notions going in. See you guys on the dance floor!!
Hi, I’m Tom 7. I will do Ludum Dare 19. I’ve made some fairly complete games before, like Escape, and entered LD17 with Is Lands? (5th place Audio omg wooo).
I like to start fresh the moment the theme is announced, but I hereby declare that I will probably use my boilerplate preloader/collision code if I work in Flash, and will use SDLML and maybe my Box2D port if I work in SML. Both are available from my sourceforge svn. I love to do stuff from scratch. A blank untitled document is my favorite sight.
I am Tom 7. I will make a game from scratch for Ludum Dare 17.
I do declare that I might use my spartan SDLML lib if I program in SML. But I will probably jazz out in Flash, in which case I may reuse some of the basic infrastructure and physics libraries I wrote for you keep dying (src). Both are GPL. All gameplay and content will be new.
