On the LD website has a join button, but it doesn’t work after the transition to Steam.

I feel like deer hooves up

Today I uploaded a webGL version on hosting. Corrected schedule. Made tutorial.
Improved verification of loss. (Now the game ends if the deer rolled over on his back)
And finally my turn came to adding sounds. A little more and you can show the result.

Hi all!
I’m surprised, but my body woke up exactly half an hour before the announcement of the theme.
The next few hours I’ll think and drink tea. To come up with something awesome.
No, to REALIZE that you invented something amazing – need a few hours.
I don’t know yet what it will be, but the fact that waiting makes me tremble.

The End of the First Day

I went to the launch exhausted.
On Friday, I consulted with my family: should I participate?
Previous LD gave me a serious push towards my dream.

But now I’m afraid to grub and the strength to finish.
It took me almost 6 hours to crystallize the solution for a given topic.
I will continue to learn Unity and make a clone of the game from my childhood.
This time I will no graphics – only squares instead of walls and hero.

This time I did my first 2D game in Unity.

For fear of stumbling on a level I didn’t set an ambitious task. The game was simple and elegant.

The last two days I’ve figured out how to port Unity to my phone. The first time it is always difficult for me. Finally all the problems are behind us. And I’m glad to present you my game on Google Play!

Maybe someone you know children will find this game transistors funny. I would be glad if you take a picture of someone playing my game and put his photo in instagram with #connectSimilar tag.

Because of anxiety, I could not really sleep tonight. After minutes after the start of the site hung. The tweeter has helped me to learn the subject. I never went to the computer more than an hour. During this time the idea in my head has got lots of details. A link between worlds is a General search in the flow of things. I was pleased to recall his childhood and the games in which my father played with me. We had to draw the figure from memory: those icons transistors. It seems to me that I managed to create something elegant and fresh, with a minimum of graphics and original setting. What do you think about this game?

How we were making comics

I spent my weekend at the picnic. Monday’s morning. I started painting comics “”Adventure Time”” listening to the audiobook about zombies.Suddenly, Artem (our producer) called me and said, I had an excellent opportunity to make the comics begining and ending of one cool game.I was agree, ‘cos I knew Artem for a long time. But!I couldn’t notice a trick) Artem gave me only 8 hours to do the job.

I was taken aback! I dropped everything! I didn’t eat and drink,couldn’t meet my girlfriend from her work.I was painting, and painting, and painting.. It was great to invent main character that looked like a heat on the stipe. It was unreal to make quality path, that’s why I colored pen scetch. Horror was in next situation. I spent 5 hours drawing the begining and I had only 3 hours to finish another comics. I must draw our team on a final picture and it was harder than main character. Team mates sent theirs photos for me and I started off drawing. The allotted time was ending but I had!

Funny moment! Our game designer Yaroslav turned from blonde to brunette!The fact is that he spent black-and-white photo!I was in a hurry and made him black-haired by mistake) I note that I know how Yaroslav looks like))I found out my mistake two days later, when I logged in skype)The result was a funny joke for our team chat.

Текст: Yet it was a team game. It was no time for quarrels and somebody should always agree. For example when Nikita’s trees and mountains had been ready and we had already began to make location from them Alex came and brought a new tree in the same pixelart but in quite other style. We liked it and threw all out and began to do it from the very beginning. So we can say courageously that Alex imported the style. But it’s one thing to promote your own ideas but it’s another one to agree and take someone else’s style. Nikita and Vova could do it perfectly. For instance, at first the hero appeared at location as a top view. Then we saw his face in comics and only after that we froze him on the start page. Three different men did all this. And it was so in many things. To draw in pixelart is not a new idea for quick project. But it is all artists’ merit that we could do something our own, original and complete.

My name is Nikita and I am an artist. Now I realise that my decision of making art for “Campfire” was quite insane idea. After announcement of the concepts the idea of pixel art came up, and we have found it quite fine. Have you ever painted pixel art? I haven’t. The result can be seen in the game. Everything has been making in the midst of chaos. At first we drew a background. Nobody payed attention at the fact that the trees were full of cheerful greenery in winter and the cane swayed playfully in the water, and it was green too by the way. The hero of a science-fiction thriller collected cartridges from trees, tossed them into the fire, and fished out of the hole, which was just like a picture of an atomic explosion. And the fish was galloping through the location, portraying a mettlesome fowl. Then the fish turned into quite a cute reindeer that is in the habit of walking on his horns periodically.

When we finished with the background, we began to draw interface. He turned out to be very nice, but nobody could comprehend what the mitten is. Our producer was arguing with the programmer for a very long time. Producer was saying that blue flashlight (mitten!) should be replaced with a snowflake. Programmer was defending lovely mitten during whole three days of development, but at the end he cursed producer and gave up.

It was a memorable experience. The atmosphere really crazy and full of chaos. I had lots of fun. When will the next Ludum Dare take place?

Why they call me the producer here. Do you know what the producer does? No? Neither do I. I have been doing something for 72 hours. I haven’t been crawling away from the computer, writing no code line, drawing no picture and writing no scene letter. I haven’t even felt when I hoarsened telling everybody once again what to do right now or we aren’t in time.

But for a start we should find an idea. The best idea, do you understand me? Such idea that we have no doubt. I called everybody and offered everyone to write something. Some ideas were funny? Some of them were too difficult, and someone was well enough. We had 15 ideas that we wrote according to witnesses after several hours of brainstorm. At first we denied 5 ideas. There were interesting, deep and well described ideas among of them. So we denied my ideas too. Then we keep on 5 ideas. There was nothing strange because all this five ideas were perfect and can take part in competition.

So the firmest ideas were kept on at the end. The participants of the team in turn said what idea we didn’t like. And it turned out that everyone had personal old scores with some ideas. Just then several sweet raccoons, dozen heroes, evolving runner and very accurate shooter were died. Suddenly for all the most unnoticeable idea about Man was elected. He needs to keep the fire burning, tossing firewood every 10 seconds. Otherwise, the fire goes out and you will die. The most interesting thing began than, of course, when the plane, cave and friendly deer appeared. Yes, it was the sweet deer that approached trustfully to our main hero by comics. The main hero killed it every time, tore the leg and ate at fire.

It was very funny, Ludum dare unites people and opens new possibilities in them. I didn’t think that I could speak during 72 hours: Yes, of course, you are quite right. It shall be done so as you want.
