I want to share my progress on a android game about Iceland.

In the game there were fans who inspire me to push the cart of development on and on. When the phone receives new review from the store – it makes my day.

The game has a lot of math, but after I started to highlight the wrong answer – it went smoothly. I started to play my game in the train after work. When the head is not already running, tap on the picture with the sheep was a pleasant.

December was tough for me. Finally after the new year I put together a version of the game with new visitors. And more difficulties!

My 4-in-row LD. Every time I’m afraid that everything will fail. A little scared to speak publicly on the participation.

I’m making a game without violence for mobile platforms. Unpredictable weekend, and then 3 months of slow polishing.

For me this is the third LD in a row. Every time I go a little further in development and still far from success.

I’m doing a prototype, collect feedback and begin to work on the comments. Therefore, praise and comments mean more to me than ratings and points. (I’m more of a blue ocean than the red sea.)

Compliments is a growth point. So I understand that like the players and try to strengthen it. Comments help to eliminate critical errors, but compliments are much more important.

This week, in fits and starts, I’ve improved the tutorial and released the sheep to the meadows. I will be glad to hear your opinion about the current state of the prototype.

I finished work on a prototype. Unexpectedly for us a game about Iceland turned atmospheric. The sounds in game are real. Sounds exactly like the wind and sheep. Sounds exactly like the storm inside the small house. Very strange feeling when you kill the sheep to survive until the end of winter.

Gradually the artist gives me the background images. I have inserted a draft to work on interfaces. I have goosebumps as it turns out atmospheric game about Iceland. I’m trying to replace text to images. So the story was more real.

I decided to do an economic strategy about the ancient Vikings. I am inspired by the book Jesse L. Bayok. The game will be ice, sheep, codfish, and volcanoes. Today I finished balancing the economy. To kill a Viking village that is pretty funny.

Life after LD35

Last LD35 ended for me with the publication my game in Google Play. After a crazy weekend the prototype has undergone many changes.
1) I’ve gone from clicks to touch – is now one level can be passed in one motion.
2) Orientation has changed from landscape to portrait
3) I added a timer. The session was first exhibited, for 2 minutes. But then it turned out that 90 seconds is much better.
4) Added combos. When collecting mushrooms in one motion – a snail gets smaller with each mushroom.
5) In my experiments with the narrative I brought a number of funny phrases up to 40.

I manage to carve out a few hours on the weekends. Therefore, the work creeps slow like a snail. I plan to add a lot of routine things, which do not relate directly to the gameplay:

1) localization
2) notice
3) achievements
4) social network
5) ios publication

My idea is much like the previous LD30 Connecting Worlds – very similar switch.
There’s another puzzle about the choice of the right cards.

This time, instead of transistors will be mushrooms (because mushrooms are funny). These mushrooms will eat the snail. Choose edible mushrooms, or die from poison.

The first version of a new game – very addictive.

This time I plan to make something in 3D. Only bricks and rendering.
And Unity 5.4 of course. If I’m lucky, I can after the ld35 to tie to prototype in-house Shader.
Last time I focused on the limited resources and bind to the season (HNY).
I had to put the resulting game until the autumn – HNY ceased to be relevant.

I still want to experiment with mobile interfaces (which differ from the mouse and keyboard).

Let your ideas will be really cool. And don’t forget to make a tutorial. 😉
