Well I got a screenshot1few hours into development and figured out that the fun element wasn’t quite there with my idea. So I’m stopping development now and doing other things with my weekend!

The plan was to use the Connected Worlds theme somewhat literally, by having you control the Earth and being connected to the Moon via gravity. You must use your gravitational pull to pull the Moon through mazes full of obstacles, pinball bumpers, and other things I didn’t end up implementing.

Here’s a quick gif of the game in action:

BipolarDesign’s LD48 game

I implemented some things during the short development that might be of interest to Fusion 2.5 developers (source code download below):

1) Use a Sub-Application as a custom-shaped draggable window
2) Find the physical on-screen angle between an object in one window and the center of a draggable Sub-Application
3) Simple usage of the built-in physics objects
4) An “obstacle fancifier” that finds Backdrop Obstacle objects in a grid and pastes fancy, linking graphics on top of it. You’ll see what I mean when you look at the frame editor vs the actual game :)

The game as it stands can be downloaded here, along with Fusion 2.5 source code:

Good luck with your games everyone 😀

Oh and let me know if you end up using my source code for anything! I’d love to see your creations ^_^

Well, I finished my entry. I got tired of Ludum Dare halfway through and added weird nonsense to the game instead of making it better. Enjoy!

Hey everyone, I decided to take my Ludum Dare entry, make it much better, and release it on every platform I can! (PC, Android, Ouya, and maybe iOS!)

Here’s a video my progress so far:

And here’s the original Ludum Dare entry (I promise to play and rate everyone’s games who comments on Space Jellyfish!):

Making a simple arcade game about a Space Jellyfish!! Control scheme basically done, simple enemy AI done, universe procedural generation framework is set up (1,000,000 X 1,000,000 pixels max universe size), Android and PC versions working fine (Android version may not be released depending on time/production over the next 23 hours)

I’m creating a game based off the old stereotype of the evil dude with an evil mustache forcing tied-up victims to lay on train tracks. Each victim that gets hit = 100 points, each victim that the HERO saves makes your evil mustache shrink! You run out of mustache, you lose!!
