I finished my first LD game, and first HTML5/JS game ever! It’s called “10-Second Shadow Block-Dude!” Play it here:

It’s a puzzle game that requires quite a bit of finesse in control in the later levels. The core mechanic is that the game resets every 10 seconds, but shadows of your past actions repeat themselves. I’m sure this has been done before, but it was fun to implement and I think my levels are pretty good given the limited scope. There’s lots of fun ways the game could be expanded, mostly with more mechanics besides just buttons and walls, like shooting objects, moving blocks, traps, etc..

Big thanks to Javier Arevalo’s HTML5 Game Programming lessons, which I used to learn all this stuff and grabbed some utilities from as a base. You can find them here:

The source for 10-Second Shadow Block-Dude! can be browsed with the developer tools when the game is loaded. The sounds were created using http://www.bfxr.net/. The few images in the game were created with Graphics Gale and Paint .NET.

I’ll be sure to participate in LD again!
