Second Ludum Dare! (Third if you count miniLDs)


Engine: Unity3D (Probably  going to use 2D tools)

Language: C# (Maybe a little Javascript for some of the more basic scripts)

Tools: Paint.net (Art) , BFXR (Sounds) , TBD (Music) , Pen and paper for preliminary drawing , OBS (Livestreaming)

Livestream: I will be livestreaming on twitch: twitch.tv/jacobbev

Very excited! Not sure if i am going to do compo or jam yet will have to see how everything goes.

The collision detection is horrendous and i’m not sure how i am going to fix it but besides that all i have left is:

  • More SoundFX
  • Music
  • More Levels
  • JEB_001’s diary entries that will appear in between levels
  • EndGame
  • A few bugs

After 6 hours of trying to get collision detection working… I finally got it!!!! ProTip: DO NOT START A NEW LIBRARY A FEW DAYS BEFORE A LUDUM DARE.

I got it working but its crappy so now i need to optimize.crappyCollision

I don’t know where my mind was last night but when i woke up i realized i did some really terrible programming and now its time to fix it all :) Wanna join me?


What’s Done?

  • Basic level loading
  • Input (adding more input will take secounds)
  • Beginnings of Player class

What’s Left?

  • New Rendering of map
  • New movement
  • Collision
  • Switching between levels
  • EndGame
  • SoundFX
  • Music
  • Probably more… (Depending on time)

First LD48 however i have watched 3 times excited to be the one actually coding this time.


  • Language- Java (+ a little xml for particles and other things like that)
  • Libraries- Slick2D (LWJGL)
  • Art- Paint.net / Pickle
  • Music- Not sure yet will have to look through tools on ludum dare site
