I’ll just try to make something

Hey fellas, I was really hoping I could join this LD, but I was really really tired yesterday and only got to sit down at the computer now so it’s probably too late for me. I’ll still try to play a little in unity and post whatever I come up with, if I like it.

Anyway, loved the theme and I’m loving the progress posts I’m seeing, keep it up!

Last hours shameless self promotion and thank you!

Hello people, this was my first Ludum Date and first game jam ever and I’m really happy! I got around 50 votes and a lot of positive feedback, and I really wasn’t expecting that. This community is awesome and I wanted to thank everyone for participating and making it what it is! As I said in a previous post, I intend to develop my entry further into a full game.

If you haven’t played it yet, then this is your last chance to play and rate Maggie!

Play with a magnetic field generator, build bridges to cross gaps and SLAM TONS OF STEEL ON YOUR FOES’ FACES!

I’m really excited about my game!

Hey guys, just wanted to let you know that I really enjoyed my LD32 Jam entry and am now working to make it into a full game. It won’t be very big, but I promise it will be fun!

I redid the camera controls and now I’m adding shadows:

Thanks to everyone’s feedback, I could improve the gameplay and the overall feel of the controls. This version is not up yet, but in the meantime you can play and rate my entry right here. I have only 40 votes, so if you want to help me with your votes/feedback I’d really appreciate it!

Post LD Updates to Maggie!

I finally updated some stuff in my LD32 Jam entry, Maggie.

These are the updates in the Post LD versions:
– Bug fixes;
– Added music;
– Added SFX;
– Improved the physics a little;
– Bats are now killable (gotta hit’em hard!)

The core mechanics hasn’t changed with the updates, and I didn’t add anything big, just the audio but it’s not rateable anyway, so it should be okay to play the post ld version. I’ll still keep the pre LD version just in case.

A lot of people mentioned the high difficulty caused by the randomness aspect of the game. That was by design and I intend to keep that unchanged until more people have played it. I think the biggest problem was that I didn’t introduce the player properly to the mechanics, I might work on that later.

Play and rate it here!

PS: Thanks for everyone for the feedback, this is my first time in the Ludum Dare and it’s awesome!

Maggie is in!

I did it guys! My first “completed” game ever! It’s not perfect, my weekend was busy so I couldn’t do a lot (I couldn’t put any audio in :(), but it’s up and working.

The character Maggie wields a powerful weapon capable of creating remote magnetic fields. She uses this to escape a bat infested cave!

Check it out, here!

This could be something…

I’m still struggling with some basic movement stuff, so I decided to start making the core mechanics to see how it would come out. This is what I got so far:

Maggie Work In Progress

The main character is named Maggie and the game will be titled after her. She possesses a weapon called the Portable Remote High Power Self Sustaining Electro Magnetic Fields Generator. Or, as she likes to call it, the Horseshoe. It is capable of creating self sustaining magnetic fields, within a range, that will attract any close metals.

Time is short and my weekend is busy, the prototype is still very buggy, but I’m determined to make something out of it, as I really liked this idea. Let’s do this!

A very late entry

Hello people, this is my very first time participating in Ludum Dare and I’m really late, but what the hell, let’s do this! Something always comes up on the LD weekend to stop me from entering, and this time is no different, but I’m gonna do this anyway. I’ll go for the Jam as it will give me more time.

  • Unity 5
  • C#
  • Paint.net (I’m a hopeless “programmer who can’t art” and setting a few transparencies here and there is as far as I can go)
  • Bfxr
  • BeepBox

I’l post 3rd party assets later. As for the art assets, I’m working with some of Kenney’s right now, and they’re probably gonna be definitive.

Good luck!
