At the moment, it fullfills the theme 😀

I’ve been asked to do more blog posts this LD edition (last I did 0 aprox).
As I start writing this it’s almost 11pm here at Sabadell (near Barcelona). Almost time to go to sleep and refill energy for this wonderfull weekend. I’ve just uploaded to bitbucket my work-in-progress engine, and tomorrow I’ll start from that point. Anyone interested is on here, now it’n on licensing limbo but I’ll release on GPL, I think.
Why I’m doing this? I have 2 main reasons: it is fun, and it’s the best way to learn game design.
Also I’ll be working with my girldfriend (art) and with code I just published so we won’t be on the main compo but on the Jam, so we actually have a reason to use #LDJam 😀
Now the plan. C++, sfml, OGL. 2D, probably… my engine is 3D, but I can add 2D support and will be usefull (the engine has been barelly started, by the way, this week I started font rendering support). Sound… that’s gonna be a tought one.
Now some uninteresting backstory. I’ve been doing the lasts LD in Unity, and the ones before them in Java. All this was to support multiple OS, so why going back to C++, wich I probably won’t be able to make a port to anything and won’t be web-playable? Well… I ended the last LD burned. I felt like I wasn’t doing anything innovative in Unity and I want to feel the air in my skin. So sorry everyone who won’t be able to play my next game for that, I REALLY need to enjoy this LD and I have to break some things I did on past LD to do that.
Going back some paragraps. To have fun, and to learn. And I know more or less what I want to learn.
I want to learn if my engine is worth anything. If I’m able to finish something with it, it will be a great leap forward.
Also, there is a genre I just put my eye on: managers (as in Football manager), I plan to make a manager this LD. I know we are not supposed to plan anything, and I really can’t make any promises, but I just want to try that genre and tomorrow morning when I wake up and I see the theme, the first thing I’ll do is try to match it (☃) with the manager genre.
And let’s be honest, most of you will do a 2d platform scroller, so what is wrong in having a desired genre?
Hi everyone!!!
I’m here, doing a good’ol jam with my girlfriend. I have some demo for you:Â http://atridas87.cat/LD27/LD27_run.zip
Now I’m going to sleep, and tomorrow we’ll finish this game!
I don’t have Internet at home. No connection. Zero.
Well, 4kbps. That is the same as none.
The question is, will I be able to do a ludum dare without our friend Google? Will my provider be able to solve the problem before this weekend? I hope to enter this, my 5th LD!!!
I wasn’t planning to do this LD but, wtv………. LET’S GO!!!
I HAVE AN IDEA!
Just finished the gameplay, no screenshots this time.
I can’t program in a while, I’m mentally tired. Basic gameplay is complete, Things that must be added to the game asap are:
Yes I know, it’s saturday, we shouldn’t be starting NOW.
But we are.
Why? Because we are doing the Jam, and I like the “program in 48 hours” thing. So I just began now, to have the game finished tomorrow. Yes this was programming art, my girldfrind is doing the “real” one, I hope it will be better than mine 😀
Hello ludumers!
I’m in for other LD, but this time will be Jam time!
Long story short, my girldfriend wants to participate, but she wants to do mostly art, so we’re teaming up! As we can’t post for the compo (Duh!) we’ll have to do a Jam, but fear not, we will do it in (mostly) 48h because we can’t do anything on saturday.
So 48 hours (more or less), with “hard” deadline (monday), 2 people, Java (probably) 2D (probably), game-on-web (that is important, indeed).
See ya!
Althought I finished yesterday, I had to do some things this morning.
Basically writing all licence attributions (ogg, slick, etc…) and the web applet, so more people can play my game.
Now I’m tired, so, so tired! And hungry!
But no, I’m not done yet. My game is, but now I have to play and rate a THOUSAND games.
Wish me luck! 😀
I have finished, as my repo shows!!!
http://code.google.com/p/atridas-ludum-dare/source/list?name=v1.0
Now I only need to upload it somewhere. I’m having problems with googlecode ’cause it does not like so large files.
I’ll see if I can split them…
Yay!!!! The game is playable!
I have submitted my entry, and now I’m gonna eat something, so I can have energy to make the finishing touches!
Here you can find nice ones:Â http://www.squidfingers.com/patterns/3/
