Software like Mixamo Fuse allowed?

Just wondering for future Ludum Dares, is using software like Mixamo Fuse allowed? For those that do not know, it is basically like a character creator. Also, how about the animations from Mixamo? Bcuz u know, motion capture is not really viable in a 48 hour period and a $0 budget.

I would really appreciate it if someone gave me their opinion.

U r teh munster

My game is coming along great. I have menus, win conditions, saves etc all working already. I will spend the rest of the time making more levels and different types of victims that you can kill.

The game is a mixture of 2d and 3d art.

I wanted to make a parody kind of game, so I chose to have a Speakonia voiceover (subtitles working just great :)))))))  ) and I am also proud to present the most advanced feature in “U r teh munster” – Xvidya HairDorks Technology.

As you can see each pixel simulates a part of teh munster's hairstyle.

Xvidya HairDorks Technology in all it’s glory

Teh munster has plenty of that good old sweg so he can use his hair as deadly weapons. I even wrote a song for Teh Munster, about his huge amounts of unprecendented sweg. I will be hosting the game on http://asado.itch.io/

I am so in.

Hey dudes, 3rd Ludum Dare, 2nd time doing the compo. First time I did the compo (LD32), I went with 2D graphics (game can be found at http://asado.itch.io/vinnie) since 3D art was something impossible for me. Now I am getting more or less confident with basic 3D modelling and this time I am positive that I will create a fully 3D game.

Game Engine: Unity 5 or Unreal Engine 4 (probs Unity)

3D Art: Blender

2D Art: Substance Painter + Paint.NET

Sound: No idea lol

I will try to make the game funny and technically advanced, probably just one interesting game mechanic/gimmick that I have not done before.

Spodermen has sweg

Y u no source code

It’s pretty frustrating how almost half of the compo entries do not have source code. I mean, come on. There is a checkbox you click before submitting confirming that you have included the source code, and YET ANOTHER checkbox asking if you have read the rules, which if you have you would have either provided source code or entered the jam. You don’t have to upload source code, you always have the more relaxed jam as an option, but if you do want to do the compo, please include source code. I love reading other people’s code and taking in all the knowledge, it is pretty annoying when you can’t find a game with source code even in the compo section.

I should have made a game about “Looks that kill”

I should have made a game about “Looks that kill” That would have been so cool… Anyway, I made a game called “Vinnie Cancer” where you have to give enemies cancer by shooting cigarettes at them. This is my first narrative driven game. Basically, Fabuzzio’s family gets murdered by Vinnie Tobacco’s hired contractors and he sets out to infiltrate their headquarters. He soon finds an entire army of tanks which can get cancer and finds cards containing valuable information about the Vinnie Tobacco Corporation.

Recorded a video for my MLD game

So, um this is a short gameplay video I made of my game. I am still working on it, and will be posting more videos later on. For now you can download it at asado.itch.io/haz

The game looks quite jumpy in the video, but it is quite smooth in real life.

Human Apocalypse -Zombie-

So, um. Where should I start? This is the first third person shooter I made. I DO NOT CONSIDER IT COMPLETE, and I will continue working on it for as long as it takes for it to become a complete product which I will not feel ashamed to charge money for. The idea is that you play as an immortal zombie slaughtering mindless humans roaming the streets. The humans have ragdolls and the player can choose from an incredibly wide option of weapons – a pistol and a machine gun. Technically, I have scripted the behaviours for sniper rifles, shotguns, knives, blunt weapons, grenades, and hand to hand combat, but I do not have the animations yet so I have decided not to include that yet. I also had enemies, but I was not fully happy, so I decided to perfect them and add them into the game at a later stage.

The screenshots only feature the pistol, but that is because the screenshot shortcut on mac is Command Shift 3, therefore switching my weapon to the handgun whenever I want to screenshot.

KNOWN BUGS:

-camera clips through walls – will be fixed REAL soon. (After the MLD of course).

-aiming at various heights not animated – I will address this next week.

-borders around the level also have colliders so when you shoot at them, sparks and smoke appear. – in the final version there will be no apparent borders, so yeah.

If you download the game and find a bug, please tell me at asado@gmail.com

CONTROLS:

WASD – movement;

left mouse button – shooting;

right mouse button – aiming;

3 – handgun;

4 – machine gun;

I consider this a success of sorts, and I did not really believe that I could do something like this. I am really eager to find out what you all think about it. Models were not mine, but I will replace them with my own models later down the line.

So, it’s a Human Apocalypse….

Sorry that I didn’t write the post-mortem earlier, but I usually don’t know what my game will turn out to be like)). In Human Apocalypse – Zombie, you play as an armed zombie that has to murder all the humans invading(by simply walking about) – it’s reversed that way. There are no enemies and probably won’t be any by Friday, but I am planning to work on this game further and I will add an entire city with vehicles and world events later on. I am a programmer first and foremost, therefore none of the models are mine. As far as I know, they’re all allowed for commercial use, but correct me if I am wrong…

So, this was my first time making a third person shooter, I wanted to make Mario 64-style controls first, but changed my mind because I preferred the way I did it in the end, therefore the orientation of the character only depends on the camera when aiming. I did not have many animations, therefore most of the coded functionality is commented out, but I will add crouching and aiming animations later. Since I’m 14 at the moment, school is taking a lot of my time too, so I will probably not be able to add much by Friday.

Already did random generation of spawn points, a health system and all that stuff. I feel like this will be one of my best games. Here are some screenshots:

Day 1 Progress

After a late start due to band practice and a good friend’s b-day party, I managed to come up with an okay idea for an okay game. I’m using Unity 3D and writing in C#. I’ll participate in the jam since I’m no artist and I’ll have to use tf3dm models. Here’s what I have so far:

So, you have a few mushrooms that you can control from a fixed point on the map. They shoot at the closest enemy and the enemy shoots the closest mushroom. You have to select individual shrooms and position them to fend off as many waves of enemies as you can. The mushrooms already do what they have to do. Now I’m trying to get the health bars working:

Once I get the main gameplay down, I’ll get to writing music! (the best part)

Can’t wait to make my awesome game
