Not very smart, am I?

Guess what? If you rush things, you do them wrong.

Who’d have thought, right?

It turns out, that, although I have been uploading bug fixes, I kept forgetting to change the link to the download on the game page, so everyone has been playing the old, bad version. I know, it’s terrible. It should be fixed now, hopefully.

Until the next time I make another dumb mistake, you should be OK to play it this time.

Did you know the number in the name “LD48” is actually the number of minutes?

You can’t do it, they said.

There’s not enough time, they said.

Not enough time for what, I said.

You can’t make even a minutely good game in an hour, they said.

I smirked. Who said it had to be good?

A few words for a few nerds…

I couldn’t help noticing the choice of themes in this LD. I know I’m not the only one to raise this issue, and I have to say to anyone else who did, I completely agree.
If the games are going to be “innovative”, then the themes must be too. I remember doing the Slaughter a few days ago, and one of the themes was “shooter”. I personally hope the person who suggested that theme met the same end as the theme itself. Because, most of the games I played, especially in the last LD, looked as though they had been created beforehand, and then someone just slapped on an image of an underground cavern in the background.

But hey, listen to me, moaning, I’m just tense. I’ve got some practicing to do.

Here’s to hoping the theme’s going to leave room for interpretation, and at the same time not so vague that someone can just get away with copying an existing game.

Thanks everybody!!!

788th PLACE????

I am absolutely staggered: I was expecting to be last!

The 35 of you who rated, you’re all amazing!

Everybody who gave feedback, you’re all awesome!

Everyone who submitted a game, well done too!

All else I can say is, see you all next time!!!

You thought it was over. You were wrong.

Yup! The awesome Fish-it is now playable from the comfort of your browser, and because it’s OpenGL, you can play it from any OS without plugins.

Come on, click the link. You know you want to…

Should I bother with a Web version of my game?

Hi there. I’m 13 and this is my first Ludum Dare competition, so don’t be surprised if I come up with a question.

I finished my game but only compiled for Windows. Apparently I can also port to Web. The LD guide also says Web entries are best – my question is: should I even bother?

Is it really so inconvenient to just download a zip folder? Who would even be looking to rate games on some Android device, and how many people even care about my game anyway? There are so many out there better than mine, it’s hardly a loss.

So what do you think? Should I make a Web port? How many ratings is not doing one likely to lose you? Are you really sat there thinking, “If only this kid had ported to Web so I can play it”? Do you even want to?

Are you really dying to play?
