The first 12 or so hours are going to be crunch time for me as I need to whip up a text adventure engine AFAP.

Netbeans IDE for Java

A computer.

I thinks this is my fourth LD, third to be submitted on my account, and probably 5th I’ve partook in to some minor degree.

I’m in!

This is my fourth dare (third on this account) and it’s gonna be a good one.

Self built 4790k oriented pc
Some HP APU oriented laptop
Language: Java
Midi keyboard (ctk-700), old christmas present.
Some random Yamaha 4 pad electric drumb kit
SFX will be whatever i find or make using online tools.
Making a new engine from stratch in the first day with 2D graphics.
Day1.5 is storyboarding, music design.
2 is level design and creation, engine refinements.
3 is fixing fvckvps and getting stuff to work

Happy jamming!

In I am, yes I am.

This is my second Ludum Dare I have officially undertaken.

My tools of choice:

StackOverflow (A necessary tool for all programmers)
Java (JDK 1.8/1.7)
Netbeans IDE
If I decide to put in audio I have a Casio CTK-700 MIDI Keyboard using whatever MIDI program I can find.
I sometimes use Anvil Studio, but it is rather limited and I only have Microsoft MIDI set up for it.

I am going to be in Troy at TVGS for the Ludum Dare, if I decide to stream anything it will be on Twitch.tv/AmperaCo
My twitter is @TwoOfFive_ and I might be updating one or the other. I am also AmperaYT on youtube if I decide to do anything there.

The plan is to start from scratch and I am mostly limited to simple 2D games without major keyboard control.

I also have the Text Adventure engine that I made during LD34 (Regrowth of Layeon if anyone wants to play it) that I can modify to use for the contest. It all depends on my ideas and what the theme is. Knowing this competition it’s going to be something that either restricts gameplay, is unfair to those not making a game, or requires me to think outside the box so much nobody is sure if I am using the theme or not.

Anyways best of luck to anyone who is entering in, I hope to do better then last time when I only had a tech demo of sorts.

I am in like flynn!

Obviously not the first time that joke was used.

Anyways here is my shit I will form and polish into a nice gleaming shit statue for people to play with an most likely break. :C

My plan is to use a FreeDOOM WAD and modify it with new music, graphics, and levels. I will also look into what sorts of weapons I can program, and other things.

Base: FreeDOOM WAD

I will be basing my entire game off of this one wad

Machine: A Windows 98 VM on either a laptop or my gaming rig.

Will be using windows 98 for full compatibility for all older doom tools

WAD Packager/Editor: XWE or eXtendableWadEditor

This is a really old, but flexible tool that has seen many a DOOM mod. It’s mostly for interchanging files

Level Editor: Original DOOM Editor

Unfortunately DOOM Editor 2 doesn’t work on Win9X platforms, so the original will work just the fancy.

Music: Cassio CTK-700 MIDI Keyboard and Anvil Studio with MAYBE Audacity.

I hope I can package in a Doom client like ZDoom or Chocolate Doom so people can have it zip and ready to go, but we will see.

Comment and tell me what you think of my one and only tactic XD Provide suggestions and if you want to contact me further send an email to
0a2cc8d0@opayq.com and I will get back to you.

Finally got this damn posting thing to work.

My strategy this time is to have two different platforms. One for 2D games, another for 3D.

For 2D my plan is to use GIMP 2 with Construct 2.

For 3D, I’ve gotten creative. My plan is to make a doom mod. I’ll be using IWAD editors like XWE and SLADE to implant files and models into a stripped Doom (Or freedoom) IWAD. Then I can use Doom Builder 2 to build and script levels using the textures I implanted into XWE. Due to the low resolution graphics, I decided to use something a bit old (If I still have the disk laying around that is). I plan on using Visual Studio 2003 for all graphical design, due to it’s decent bitmap editor.

Everything will be done in a Windows XP or 2000 or 98 (Or 2000 AND 98) Virtual Machine, to allow for livestreaming and full compatibility with my IWAD editors, and doom it’s self.
