Done! LD37 – Perspective

Sunday, December 11th, 2016 8:19 pm

Entry page :)

Inspired by Miegakure, you play as a circle living in a 2D world. However, you can change your 3D perspective, pulling of incredibly confusing Houdini acts.

It’s not complete, and has no actual goals, but it’s playable and a proof of concept :)

Getting Shifted

Trust me, this was absolutely not my original plan. Who cares? It’s playable…

Gameplay GIF.

Got shifted.

Unintended purposes

I was originally going to make a tower defense game. Halfway through (actually 12 hours later) I realised I was going in the wrong way. It turned out to be a Tamagotchi thing.

The game teaches you how to control yourself. But it doesn’t teach you how your ‘pets’ or ‘children’ behaves and works.

It makes you feel like a new mother. I don’t know why.

Stuck with one eye

Saturday, December 12th, 2015 7:41 am

Literally stuck with one eye… can’t think of any ways to progress.

Violin exams are right after Ludum Dare (assuming I entered Compo), got to practise between coding and thinking sessions. Probably my last LD before bigshot exams, so got to make the most of it!

Have been using PJS for the past few LDs for convenience but this time I will try out Processing if needed.

Of course I’m in!

Game Engine: Processing (not JS!)

Music: GarageBand? asfxr? Not sure…

Art: PikoPixel

Looking forward to the Dare!

hmmm… Post Mortem?

Tuesday, August 26th, 2014 5:04 am

This is my first time joining Ludum Dare, and thus my first post mortem. I successfully squeezed a game out of Processing.js, and it seems okay based on the comments I get.

Here we go:

What went right (beginner’s luck haha):

– I managed to create a game in 48 hours

– time management was okay

– got some audio, to my surprise

– game looks good and the idea was correct

– got a good excuse for the theme :)

What went wrong:

Рgot punished and forfeited a few hours of  expanding the game

– slept too much

– graphics was not as I imagined

– got stuck about whether to use noStroke() or not

– some problems with GitHub

– initial background music took too long to load, so had to remove it

Anyways, if you have not played my game yet, go check it out!

I’m All In!

Thursday, August 21st, 2014 4:14 am

Yeah! Finally got the chance to join my first LD. Really unfortunate for the first day to fall on a school day… here’s my plan (UTC+08:00):

– wake up at 6:15AM

– go to school at 6:35AM

– reach school at 7:30AM

– check theme when teacher’s not noticing at 9:01AM

– Code until a prototype is playable

– make it more awesome

– upload it

– play and vote other games

– make my game even more awesome

Oh wait. It’s on Saturday, not on Friday school day. Hmm…..
