Update # 1: Game jam gone right?

So we’re in (Wat?…)

We woke up late due to doing some work and talking about life from 9 PM to 6AM

since LD starts at 10AM in our timezone.

Officially starting by 6pm which is almost half a day gone.

Here’s how we started:

With 5 boxes of pizza! What a way to start the jam with some Dinner Jam.

With the hard part of the Jam done (the eating part…)

we’re down to the dirty and gritty bits, we’ve made progress with our game. Sure it’s only a mockup but hey, better than doing nothing while waiting for the other assets to be completed.

We’ve been stoking this baby from the start… kinda… probably? we’re also smoked out.


 

Through The Fire Logo

Creating our game Through The Fire (To the limit, to the wall…) has been fun and we’ve gotten tons of new techniques under our belt once more. There may have been some changes to the original plan but hey we’re here now~ and changes are normal…

While developing the game, we tested out the character movements with a random sphere. We, by we, I mean me the poster of this (who shall not be named) enjoyed it so much that I spent the whole game jam playing my hair off with the now implemented “Football Feature”.

LD35 for a cause

We’re looking to continue our success from LD34 and the past Global Game Jam 2016 by joining this new edition of Ludum Dare. Our game from Ludum Dare 34, Shots Fired, is currently under development and will be up soon in Steam Greenlight. While our entry from the last Global Game Jam 2016 – Microsoft Makati, Hello World, won as one of the top-three best games which booked us some tickets to next month’s Casual Connect in Singapore. We really don’t want to skip LD’s and major game jams so expect an another awesome entry from us.

But this time, we’re not going normal.

Instead of doing a full game jam (from design to prototype to polishing), we’re going to re-do and improve our entry from the last GGJ2016, which you can find here. Yes, we’ll do a complete recode and reskin for LD35. Hopefully, we can come up with an awesome demo which we can present to friends and people in Casual Connect!

Our first ludum dare and we’re finally done! Hooray!!! We did it!

Though a bit buggy at the moment, we’ll be continue fixing it post-jam.

It was a fun experience from all of us, especially with some of the artists being new at pixel art, we enjoyed it either way.

 

20hrs left – Progress

With 20 hours left, we’re racking our bits together to get it all up and running. It’s coming together… soon…

We finally also got to naming our game which is a great progress ofcourse aside from the programming and arts side. can’t imagine the game being completed without a name.

So we’ve been working on our game (No name yet) while being busy with our everyday lives but hey, we’re making progress aren’t we?

We’ve added a few characters and game level assets which were fun to make. Still a bit more to go but we’ll manage!

A bit late to the party with our post but team “Ah Putek!” is in!

Our team consists of Don (Mr. Programmer), William (Programmer / Designer), Ronnie (Artist / Designer), Shun (our Master Artist), and Aira (“Chibi” Artist). We’re pretty much a happy-go-lucky team with our first ludum dare.

With the theme “Two button controls” and “Growing” we had brain farts after brain farts but we’re making progress! We’ve spent almost a day getting our heads in the game and I guess we finally are? Probably the coffee working~
