For my 4th entry, I will use some tools :

  • Netbeans ( Java code )
  • Photoshop ( GFX ) Or Gimp
  • Bfxr, Audacity and potentially LMMS and Beepbox ( SFX )
  • Coffee, Tea
  • Github for deposit and share the final game ( If I can ! xd )

I will be live tweets and live post facebook for achievements during the event.

Yeh i have finished but my game is not optimised. I have some lags. but is functionnal. need Java 8 runtime environment for running.

And here the first minutes of the end of the first day.

The engine is globally finnished . The goal is to navigate into a level composed of platforms , however, some platforms are accessible only in certain forms of mutations ( Spider, Golem , Invisible , Flammèche ) ; So I have these four changes of programmed states is the color change that we can see.
Ex : Purple property is for the spider metamorphosis that can climb on walls.

The graphics are very basics but tomorrow I'll work on it. There are already some background music that I composed with beepbox . 
The next in new episode episode . Now I 'm going to rest ...

Hi Ludum Dare guys. I’m in again for my 3rd entry.

I will use tools I have placed in my bag :

  • Netbeans ( Java code )
  • Photoshop ( GFX ) with my new Wacom tablet
  • Bfxr, Audacity and potentially LMMS and Beepbox ( SFX )
  • Sheets, pencils ( Drafts )
  • Coffee, Tea, Pizzas for brain fuel…
  • Github for deposit and share the final game ( If I have finished ! xd )

Base game is end but need add Audio, create more graphisms for other levels and add score and history… much work still to be done !!
The goal of the game will be revealed later in the day when I will finish the graphics and sounds.

Hi everyone,

I’m in for the 2nd participation. A little bit of stress but also many forward forward to start this 34th edition !

I think I will again develop in Java and use :

– Netbeans, SublimeText2 for Java code
– Photoshop CS5 for graphism
– Audacity and Bfxr and LMMS for sounds and musics
– Some sheets and pencils for drawings, sketches and thoughts
– Lot’s coffee, pizzas ( My personnal fuel :) )
– Electronic music for concentration

Goal : Finish another game in 48 hours and have better rating than be first participation.

Changes for new edition !!! I have my personnal website in french ( Because i’m French ) here

I wish good luck everyone !!! And welcomes all French participants at the same time.

Finally a small graphical improvement. I added a background for the menus and I also made ​​little change on the GUI.
Now Sounds are added but no background music because i have no idea…XD.

When the monster scares children, children sprites change to lift his arms.

In the middle of the competition, I have finish main menu, about menu, how to play menu and pause menu.

New System of input keys listener for move player. adding random move for Childs and I have add animation of sprites.

You can scared Childrens on to maps.

when you make a child afraid , they run in all directions.

Ok fine !!! For now everything is running properly.

It is 12h in France and i have already a litle render of my future game.

I have created little part of my assets. code running with random move for NPCs and timing work fine.

Soon I’ll add the interactions between the player and NPCs. The goal of the game is to scare the whole village before aurora.

It is only the minimum objective. After if I have time I’ll add other functionalities.

Decision for my ld33 Toolbox

Preparation of my tool kit during this final stretch before the start of the event.
I decided for my first Dare competition tu use this features :

For Code

  • netbeans : My best free IDE for dev beacause i use in web, Java and Python Coding.
  • Java : Because that is the laguage I know best.
  • Notepad++ : For Brainstorming and when IDE is to slow

For Graphics

  • Paint.net : For blueprints and small graphics.
  • Gimp : For Elaborate Graphics ( If I have time ).

For Sounds

  • LMMS : For music composition ( First use so I’ll try to compose ).
  • Audacity : For editing music

For vesionning

  • GitHub : To share the future game ( I am optimistic ).

So these are all tools in my toolbox for the LD33.

I will not use basic code or framework because i hove not yet used them and i didn’t know to use them. So it’s total YOLO for this first entry. May the force be with me.

Yeah ! My first Ludum Dare and my first entrance post. Hello everyone ! I introduce myself. I’m French, i’m a web developper and during my free time, i create games just for fun. I use C++ with SFML lib, JAVA, Python languages for dev my games. I registered at Ludum Dare to test me, improve myself but also to have fun and meet other people.

I’m in for Ld33 !! I can’t wait for beginning !
