Finally a LD where I feel like I might finish in comfortable time!  Quite pleased with my arcadey planet vs. planet fighting game :)

Getting somewhere!

Not sure it’s where I want to be, but it’s somewhere! Kind of got a mortal kombat but as a planet thing going on. Just finished projectiles and their respective particles. Now I gotta work on adding some more attacks.

Really not sure where the heck this is going but oh well. At this point it’s probably going to be some sort of mortal-combat-but-with-planets creation from way deep in my sleep deprived mind. Well, this is going to be an interesting LD. Wasn’t a huge fan of the theme and it left me at a loss for ideas.

It’s been a bumpy journey, but we made it

Second LD ever, and like the title said, it was a bumpy one. I woke up this morning to find a huge bug that I had missed in my collisions engine, ended up having to re-write the whole thing which stressed the rest of my day out. Luckily my new one made me feel much better, and I think the game didn’t turn out too badly. There are still a few bugs with collisions and clipping into things weirdly, but I gave it my best and I’m donnne. T’is time to go lie down. Anyways, I’d love for you to give my game a shot, it borderlines something between mario and sonic, I’m really not sure.

Not where I’d like to be, but not done yet.

Woke up this morning feeling pretty confident about my game, but then I sat down and got to work noticing a slight bug in the collision engine. That allowed you to scale walls and clip through blocks… So here I am. Not nearly as much time left as I’d like re-writing my collision engine from scratch. Atleast the rest of the game is done, just needs a few more levels added…Untitled

Update Numero Duo

Finnaly things are shaping up for me. It’s my second LD and this one is going way better then the last, done the game engine and I’m actually pleased with it. Now I get to add fun things that I never even planned for :D. Anyways, here’s a little glimpse into what has currently been achieved.

Since everyone is doing these updates…

I guess because everyone is doing one of these update thingamajigs, I will write one too. The first thing I thought after seeing the theme was that the compo is going to be flooded by games where you have to complete an objective in under 10 seconds. I had this picture in my head of tons of minigames, all completed within 10 seconds. After sitting down for a while I decided I wanted to go with something that nobody else would do, which is where I got the idea for my unnamed game. I started by thinking of other definitions for seconds, and I came up with the number (2). This brought to mind the idea of getting medals, which continued to me deciding to make my game about getting your 10th second place at the olympics. A few minutes ago, with my basic engine down, I decided it will play a bit like sonic, where you just run and gather second place medals. To make things interesting I will probably be adding a few puzzle aspects, or something along those lines.

This is my first LD ever attempted and completed, and I would love for you guys to try it out and drop a comment or suggestion!

In total there are 16 waves, including a difficult final boss. Controls not highlighted in the game can be found in the description, along with the jar itself,

First LD entry ever and things seem to be going pretty well. I’ve titled my game Milo’s Bridge. Because your character is Milo, and you defend a bridge. Heavy plotline, right? Anyways, basic gameplay is starting to come together. Now I’m just working on a shop and some new enemies!

Language : Java
External Libraries : N/A
Sound : None (Will get something if I have time tomorrow!)

Comments, ideas, and feedback all greatly appreciated!

LD26 – Milo’s Bridge

Hello! This is my first LD entry, for now it’s called Milo’s Bridge.

The idea is for it to be a 2D defense platformer, where you have to protect Milo’s bridge from evil. That’s about all I have for now! Any suggestions or feedback greatly appreciated!
