Working on a boss

Our designer created our first boss, he’s a dark elemental who wants to eat you. But we still didn’t find a name, any ideas ?

We finally got our idea !

It’s a game about a shaman called Mara, and he has to beat bad guys and things 😀

Now all we have to do is to create the game in itself.

It’s 11:30 am and our team is still looking for ideas.

It will be a 2D game, probably a shoot’em up but we’re still hesitating. Also how will it fits to the theme ? There’s so many questions…

We added some new graphics assets to make our levels looks like the inside of some factory. Our game has a simple abstract style (to hide our laziness and our lack of graphical artists). I’m working on the intro scene while my friend is adding levels.

First playable demo !

The first playable demo of our unamed game is finally here ! 😀

It’s a 2D platform game based on the “Two buttons controls” theme. In this game, you control an alien who crashed his spaceship in a big factory, and you must gather all the pieces from your spaceship in order to rebuild it and go home. In this demo, only the first “tutorial” level is playable. Obviously, the graphic part is definitely not finished. But it’s still playable and hopefully enjoyable 😀

I saw a lot of people writing “I’m in” on the title of their post. Maybe it’s mandatory in order to validate a subscribtion or something, I don’t know. But just in case: I’m in 😀

Testing features

Here’s a test level that we use to test the new features we keep adding ! We choose the “Two buttons controls” theme. You can use left click to move in one direction (the direction can be changed using the purple blocks), and you can activate things using right click (not seen in the following video). You can jump when you walk on the yellow blocks. The game is about resolving some puzzles based on thoses systems and some others that will be added in the future. There’s also a little story but Im not going to spoil you 😉

This is our first attempt in character designing, and that’s definitely far from perfect. But thats the best we can do on paint and without any graphics skills. The motivation is still here ! 😀

First steps

We (me and my friend) just started creating our game 2 hours ago. We’re beginners so we choosed to work on Gamemaker studio. Right now we made a really simple 2D platform engine.

The blue rectangle is the player, and when he touches a purple block, it changes its direction. Also there is a debug number above 😀
