We finally did the animation of 3 sprites. The main character, the 2 firsts evolution. The third is in process. Those are the static sprites of the 3 animation we already did.

It’s almost 8:30 am of the second day in France, so it’s time for a recap.

This is our character (click on it to see the animation):

The rat will have to pick up pills to evolve to survive in the world. But he can only pick one pill, so only one evolution at the same time.

The 10 firsts levels are created, we just need to apply the graphic design of each components. The game will be divised in universes of 5 levels each. For now, we’ll try to finish the first univers quickly and then start the design of the second one. The first univers we’ll be a bunch of easy levels, and then it will be harder and harder.

These are the evolutions of our character:

– The small-rat: Can go through small holes in the ground or the walls. He can jump further and less high.

– The hippo-rat: Can resist to pretty much everything but he cant really jump and he his really slow.

– The grasshopper-rat: Can jump really high (no real downside of this evolution has been decided yet).

– The shiny-rat: Can see in the dark. And that’s pretty much it. He can’t do anything more than the “regular”-rat.

(The platforms and the Background will change but this is the first step :) )

Pythonic Game Design

I am a developper from the 90sml team. We’re going to participate to the next Jam … That’s pretty exciting.
