Ludum Dare 27 Post-Mortem

Ludum Dare Engine shell

I’m really new to this, but I have been building up a shell of a game to build upon for this weekend, located here:

This was sort of my “warmup” and hopefully I can make something awesome happen with the framework in place! I just wanted to post this here because I’m not 100% sure of the rules and don’t want to get disqualified or anything for cheating by using something I made prior to the competition.

Also, anyone who wants to is welcome to clone the repository and use it during the competition as they please.

My First Ludum Dare!

I’m in for this weekend, and I’m really excited about it! I haven’t pushed a game to completion really, other than a snake clone and a couple of pong clones, so I’m looking forward to sitting down and really working through it all. I anticipate that this is going to be a very good learning experience.

I’ll also be streaming my development live for the first time, which is also exciting!

As far as tools go, I’ll be using:

Graphics: Photoshop

Sound: SFXR

Code: C++ and SDL 2.0

I like to do things from scratch so that’s all I’m using. No music this time around, because I don’t really know how to make it!
