Our game is finally submited!


This was our first Ludum Dare and we’ve learned a lot from this experience.

Now it’s time to sleep. We’ll post the post mortem later! :)

Hello! We haven’t posted anything in hours but we were working hard in our game and now you can play a little test!

We almost have all the art stuff done, also we have preparing the UI system and the player respawn.
Now the game haves all the gameplay mechanics working, shooting system and improved jumps, althought there are some visible bugs that we must to clear.

After that We’re going to design a bunch of levels and a basic AI for enemies and keep polishing things.

Meanwhile you can download a bit test from the game and play it.

Heartbreaker update

Hello guys, We’re here again to bring you the last news from our LD48 entry.
Coding stuff: Currently we have a full engine with the bouncing system, with static enemies and moving platforms. All with a cool camera effect that follows you to pass the next level just like in Megaman games. We’re using 2DToolkit Unity plugin as 2D Framework and Itween for the platforms and camera movements.



Art stuff: We’re using After effects to do the animations, then we export the frames to singles PNG files and we make a spritesheet. At the moment we have our first enemy animated with his breaking (dying) animation. The next hour we’ll work in the main character (Dr.Brain) animations to make a cool bouncing effect and we’re going to redesign a bit the scenario to make a more enjoyble platform feeling.

Score system.

The Hearbreaker (Temporary name)

“Never think with your heart because you can get hurt! Not because love, just because Dr. Evil Brain will be there to break your heart!”

You control an evil brain that has to kill and break hearts!

Here’s a little mockup of the graphics:


Similar gameplay to Spectrum Cauldron II game. Bouncing character with only one hit. Short but hard game. Platforms, enemies and some items that will help you to bounce more!

Currently drawing the escenarios and coding the bouncing engine.

We’re Ready!

This is our first time taking part in a LD! We hope to enjoy the competition :)
By the way we are two guys, currently developing our first game so this is a good training challenge!
Our main tools will be Unity3D to develop it (using C#sharp) and Photoshop/Gimp for the art stuff. The sound will be generated with Bfxr and we have some songs from other projects to use.

We’ll try to keep the game process updated by posting all the stuff in our blog 😀
