    • PoV says:

I’ve received multiple complaints from users saying you’re spamming them, and they feel you’re somewhat shady for charging for reviews.

      Please stop this.

You are welcome to be a part of the community, but understand that people participate in Ludum Dare in their free time. This is a community of creators getting together to challenge themselves to make something. The general opinion is that how you’re conducting yourself is against the spirit of the community.

  5. Jupiter_Hadley says:

Hello all! I am Jupiter Hadley and I would like to include your game in my compilation video series.
I will be playing around 600 games from the Ludum Dare, 10 per video, for about a minute each – so each will get a little highlight.
The best of the best will be included in a compilation article of my favorites on GameJolt, and they will receive a trophy for their LD profile.
Other selected games will be written up individually on AlphaBetaGamer.com!

So yeah, if you want to enter your game just add it to this sheet – https://goo.gl/forms/6DqH3EvQ7j9LtVJu1
Here is my YouTube Channel as well – https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6A61A0RUz94hbgreCMO3cw

    Thank you!!

    • Pickens Inc. says:

Hey there. I see you a lot in every Dare to Play, and I commend your efforts, but I have to ask – what is the point of playing a game for a single minute? You barely get an idea of what the game is about?

Wouldn’t it be more worthwhile to play 120 games for about five minutes each?

      • GameGrape Gaming says:

GameGrape Gaming will review your game for at least five minutes so you can see your game played for a while and get some good feedback and because we love playing games! ๐Ÿ˜€

Jupiter does a lot of games, which makes it more challenging to do 5 minutes reviews for every game.

Speaking of games, we saw your game “City of Deaf” on your website. It’s looks cool! are you still developing it?

        • TerraCottaFrog says:

Please stop advertising here for your business. This is not the place for that.

        • Pickens Inc. says:

I appreciate that, but I have to agree with Teracotta Frog, the Ludum Dare is not the place to charge for reviews – I don’t need one that badly. You may provide great services, but here is not the place to sell them.

And thanks for your comment about City of Deaf, but that was a project I was making when I was about fourteen, around 2012, haha. It was far above my scope as a programmer at the time, so I cancelled it. The entire website really shouldn’t be linked to this account anymore.

And Jupi, my question still stands, if you’re willing to answer it. I mean no disrespect, but it is a valid opinion.

      • Mr.Chippy says:

What she does is really good for beginners though. If it is your first GameJam or Game at all, seeing someone playing it even if they don’t know what there doing is really nice.

      • Jupiter_Hadley says:

Sorry! I didnt see your comment until today. The first minute of gameplay is basically your first impression to a gamer. A gamer will decide (based on far less than a minute of gameplay sometimes) if your game is worth continuing or if they will move on. I feel that the first minute of each game gives a small feel into what they might be about. People skim my videos to find games that look interesting to play themselves. I also continue playing games that I enjoy and write about them for various websites.

        • Jupiter_Hadley says:

I also feel that developers who have put so much time and effort in a jam game should get to see at least a moment of it being played by another person. I understand completely what you are saying – that it is just a little bit of a game shown, but from that, you can sometimes see the gems. Other games (like beginners who are doing their first jam for example) can be fully played in a few minutes – so sometimes for jams it just fits.

          • Linear says:

^ Can completely agree here. Had my game played for 1 minute by Jupiter. The first impression revealed a lot and the criticism was entirely fair and useful. Honestly the majority of game-breaking flaws can be exposed quickly, like “where do I go”, “what am I supposed to be doing?”, and “why does nothing happen when I press ‘E’ like it tells me to?”

A longer, more focused review definitely adds value for a developer, but Jupiter does a lot of good for the community by showing how a potential player approaches each game knowing nothing but the information posted in the entry description and the basics most gamers arrive equipped with (WASD movement, trying everything to see what it does, etc).

    • I just want to say how super awesome you are, your you tube channel and spirit to jams/indie games is amazing ๐Ÿ˜€ Also I’ve been meaning to say thank you for that lil’ trophy too ^^

    • Vadim Ivshin says:

I have submitted my game. BTW thanks for review of my Low Rez Jam 64 submission :)

    • You’re awesome. Keep doing what you do!
(Also, saw your trophy from last year only couple of days ago. So damn proud.)

    • MrMordem says:

Just sent a form for my team, thanks for taking the time to check out and feature so many games on your videos thats awesome :)

    • Jupiter_Hadley says:

:) Thank you all for the lovely comments! I will try to play all of the games entered on my list as soon as possible! :)

    Hey all!

I took the step from developing for LD to doing a letsplay.
Some stuff can get in the way on weekends and that leaves one with less time.

So I did what I was planning on doing for a long time and started a Gaming channel on YouTube (the 465.268th or so?). It will be sh*ts, and have giggles. And for my first video are (randomly chosen):

    1) Muto Locus by Mechagk ( http://ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare… )
    2) Moving Day by cptAlbertwesker ( http://ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare… )
    3) ROOM by Spacedoubt ( http://ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare… )
    4) Escape The Room by Zekronz ( http://ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare… )

I hope you enjoy. Subscribe to the channel to watch future video’s of LudumDare and other games. If you have any requests, leave them in the comments ๐Ÿ˜‰

at some point this week in daytime GMT, I will be spending a few hours streaming entries. I wonโ€™t be able to get through a huge amount because I like to give each game a fair shake, but I will be doing more streaming in the third week of judging as well (Next week Iโ€™m off to Spain!).

So, if you would like to have your game judged on stream, please fill in this handy form!

You can find my stream channel here: https://www.twitch.tv/kappa_barsavi

    Hope to see you there!

    Hey game makers!

I’ve entered the Dare in the past but haven’t been able to participate for a while, but I adore this community and want to shine a spotlight on it.

I am host of the Dr. Ted Podcast, an audio podcast where I discuss many topics, including games. However, I would like to branch out into YouTube videos, and what better way than to showcase your games?

I don’t have a schedule for you – that will all depend on the number of requests I get and the time I have to spare. If you are interested, please head on over to my website at http://tedlougheed.ca and click on “Contact Dr. Ted.”

Good luck to everyone, I look forward to playing your games!

  18. We’ll be streaming some games as usual this Ludum Dare, although there’s no promise we’ll get to all of them as time-restraints are sadly a thing.

We’ll be streaming sometime over the next few days and taking submissions in the chat, so subscribe if you want to be informed when we go live on Twitch: https://www.twitch.tv/cantgetourname

  19. Mak3c says:

I’ll be streaming games for the LD37 event. It’ll be my first time ever, but I’ve got to start somewhere.
A few of the best will be highlighted in a short video towards the end of the judging. Visit my channel and comment the name of your game in the channel feed section if you’d like me to play yours game.

I have a YouTube channel and love showcasing indie games and devs – and would love to play your games on my channel! I plan on doing daily videos of LD37 games, with videos ranging between 45-60 minutes, with multiple games in one episode, each getting at the very least 15-20 minutes of gameplay!

Loving the entries I’ve played so far!

  28. AlmightyTuna says:

Hey everyone, I’ve started a Youtube channel and will be making videos critiquing Ludum Dare games. These will be fairly thought-out critiques rather than quick first impressions, and as such will take a wee bit longer so I will not be able to cover a huge amount of games. So if you’d like your game to be featured complete the form below. Thanks
