16 hours in – Progress post

16 hours in, and I’m feeling kinda sleepy. Made some progress, going with 100% procedural maps (DONT TRY THIS AT HOME). I’ve been doing a lot of it recently, so it didn’t take too long. Focused on colours, and tuning the generation to look natural.

Most of the small items you see on the images below are placable by the user. The game idea itself is fire based, thats all I can say 😉

    Your game map really caught my eye. It looks very good.

    For feedback, I have two points:

    1. The buildings are facing different directions. If the buildings have a purpose, I would image there are two different buildings.

    2. Lining up buildings on the long axis will produce a ‘railcar’ effect. Shrinking the buildings or enlarging the squares would help avoid that.

    That’s is how I imagined one of my ideas in the head. Good job. But realized I will not be able to produce a game of such quality in 48 hours. Working on a simple graphics for another idea.
