Hello! Have you played our game? Are you curious about how we did the effect? Do you use Unity and want source code for it? Well, we are here to help you! ๐Ÿ˜€

We made a tutorial on how to achieve this effect (and itโ€™s our first tutorial ever, so we hope we’ve explained everything well enough, and this can be useful to someone). In case you have any questions or suggestions – you know where to find us! We would be happy to hear them!

Very nice tutorial! Well explained and easily understandable.
But I just started thinking about how you could add a something like preservation of area/volume. Right now you can just merge multiple circles into one and it would like a bit weird. But maybe you can expand one circle if it partially/completely obscures another one?

Great tutorial! I was thinking about how you did it when playing. It’s a neat technique.

I got a bit carried away and made my own little project with it (I should have been doing something else altogether!):

I’m not a shader guru, but I managed to merge the cutoff shader and the blur effect. This way there’s no need for the separate RenderTexture quad.
