First Ludum Dare successful!

I just completed my first ever Ludum Dare successful. It was a crazy experience with just 3 hours sleep from Saturday into Sunday and I’m happy to have participated! I would have never thought how much you can create if you get pushed to the limits by the small amount of time that you have and try to manage.

I just recently started with game developing again (I did modding of a 2D game for years, years ago) and put my focus on Unreal Engine 4. I know, I know. Not a great choice for 2D games and even the development support of Paper2D is on halt. But despite that I think 2D works fairly well and can be optimized in various ways to work better. Most of the UE4 overhead can be disabled as well to gain tons of more performance.

Let’s end this post with a screenshot of my entry Shicken (yes, very original, thought of 2 minutes before the end. Shape + Chicken combined. Because, well, there are quite some chickens in my game)!

This looks gorgeous. I’ll have to check it out after I finish my game for the Jam.

    Is it available yet?
