ParseTheSky

Hi everyone!

Reading the comments on our entry “Parse The Sky” is a lot of fun, especially because you never know if the next comment is going to be positive or negative. While everybody says that the music and graphics are alright, most people found the controls really difficult. We are planning to take the game further than LD, so the controls definitely need to be fixed. That’s why we updated the game with a few different configurations and would really like to know what you think about them!

Please check out the post-compo version and let us know if any of the controls are good. Any feedback is welcome!

Happy holidays and may the odds be ever in your favor!

    I played the post compo and I’m not sure if it was intended like that, but I used keyboard keys AND mouse together, since arrow keys had no rolling :) it was doing the trick for me, but I would have preferred if it would have been possible to change the y axis for mouse also 😮 and if the speed of movement change would be more sensitive on the up and down movement of mouse, since it felt a little sluggish compared to it’s sensitivity with rolling. I’m excited to see more of this project 😀 any idea yet where you want to publish it when it’s finished?

      Thanks a lot! Mouse+keys are intended to use together, we just need to make it one of the options in controls. For now, you can change Y axis with X key. Thanks for the comment! We’re actually going to put it on the Unity asset store for now, maybe somebody will take it to a full game.

    I think the game is solid. I made it to the objective of collecting all spheres and only died once because I did a loop in a bad spot. The controls are good, but the concept of flying something that doesn’t move left when you hit left is confusing for those not familiar with it.

    Add a tutorial level maybe to demonstrate some basic flight movement. Hope you continue to develop it either way.

    It is very similar with Oases – another game on itch.io
    It is really strange ++

      You’re right! The look of our game is going to change though. We found Oasis while already working full steam on LD, they did turn out to be pretty similar.
