With expert timing, it was a little bit frightening

I made several fixes and tweaks that should make the game much more enjoyable and play as intended. No new features, unless you consider the Mute function a “feature” (I consider it a necessity I forgot to add). I also detail a problem that some people may have with their resolution affecting the gameplay. You can read a full changelog as well as download the game via the original post here.

The main thing that changed that I’m ecstatic about is the boss (the tendril of despair) of the game now shows up in time with a climax in the music. That wasn’t intentional, I was just tweaking his arrival to balance the difficulty (he arrived before most of the other enemies, which was not intended either), but the first attempt to do so resulted in this. If you’ve already played the game, I encourage you to try it again with the tweaks. It should play smoother and the difficulty curve should be more smooth, with an exciting spike when the boss shows up.
