So here’s what I have near the end of the first day… A vine growing in an alley.

Now to spend the last day polishing it up and making it look pretty. I should probably put some kind of game in there too.

I was originally planning to make this an endless climber, but I now think a win condition is definitely the way to go.

    I’m with Jace239, do you mind in explaining the theory behind that awesomeness?
    I’m guessing that you generate a new part based on a random selection of “vine parts” and glue them together pointing where the mouse is.
    You’re not using Adobe Flash, right?

      Thank you! So I’m building in Haxe and exporting to Flash (I’ll always choose Flash for LD, it’s the most accessible platform). You’re on the right path about the vine. It’s is a collection of points that are affected by gravity and constrained to one another, so they form a chain. I generate more points as time passes, so the vine appears to grow. When a point touch an obstacle (the fire escape in this gif) the point is anchored there and no longer affected by gravity. Then every point has a 1/3 chance of growing a leaf. That’s all there really is to it.

      I’m not using the mouse to guide the plant, but rather the left and right directional keys so I can fit in with the second theme.
