Real World Gatherings for Ludum Dare 34 [33]

While Ludum Dare is typically an online event (make a game from the comfort of your home), many real world events happen around Ludum Dare. Most events have limited space, so RSVP ASAP! Here’s the list:

  10. In Frankfurt am Main, Germany, I am hosting a ‘soft event’ this time around. Come and meet local jammers at a Pre-drinks session, make teams and then work from home over the weekend.

    Warwick Game Design are hosting a Ludum Dare competition.
    We’ll only be running it from 8pm Friday to 8pm Sunday (+1 hour either side for setup-teardown).

    We do have Linux PCs available for use (with non-administrator permissions) too, though we advise people to bring their own computers/laptops.
    WGD exec will be present 24/7, as well as on-site security and CCTV so things can be left in the room. Card access is required to access to the building but there will be always be people around.
    Sadly we cannot provide overnight accommodation (as a general rule, but we may have some sofas for one or two people if necessary).

    Open to everyone – students and non-students alike!

    Miskatonic Labs located at 518 MLK Jr Blvd in Savannah, GA has lots of space to people to bring their own computers to set up, as well as 7 PCs and 3 Macs loaded with software for attendees to use.

    Snacks and drinks available on site, as well as Savannah to Go (Local food delivery) will be available at a discount, and our neighboring Gamer-pub, The Chromatic Dragon will be open from 11am – 2am, along with The Guild Hall from 11am – 2pm for you to get your gaming on!

    There are couches and places available in Miskatonic to get a bit of shut-eye.

    Miskatonic Labs is part of The Guild Hall campus which operates under a membership system. During Ludum Dare, $20 will get you in the door to give you unlimited access to the normally metered equipment within the facility for the duration of the event.     Shout out to anyone in San Diego. There is a hackathon at Saturday, December 19th in the Francis Parker High School (6501 Linda Vista Rd. 92111). Here is the website http://hacktothefuture.team2485.org/. The theme is education for the modern world, and teams of 3-5 students will compete for over $10,000 in prizes. The event is completely free!
