Instead of waiting the whole night until the theme was announced, I got early into bed and went up early this morning in order to get some inspiration from the beautiful sunrise:

As I was standing at that beautiful place the simple thought came up: What defines a “monster”?

The word “monster” derives from Latin monstrum, an aberrant occurrence, usually biological, that was taken as a sign that something was wrong within the natural order.

As it seems, maybe a monster is not that easily to describe. I guess the most games will end up with a visual monster, a monster easy to detect. But what if the real monster is not recognized immediately, what if the monster is contained in something where you don’t expect it. This thought could give us an alternative game experience where we play a role, in which we don’t first assume that we are the monster itself. This sort of effect has also been used in movies like Identity. And this would embrace the theme “You are the monster”.

I would really follow this idea as a game thriller, but I have to go a more easy way in order to get the game finished, so I will do sort of 3D Person scare the hell of humans game. :)
