Road to the Steam Greenlight. Day 1

Day 1.

There was a meeting of the “Akku Games” team at 11AM, which contains the following people: Tima Zhum, Alex Vizalerd, and Adil Tasimov.
The theme of the Ludum Dare #33 has just been published and we’ve started a brainstorming of ideas. Here is a short description of the algorithm we used:

– To choose a genre;
– To choose a setting;
– To choose a style;
– To choose a game mechanics;
– To choose the main gameplay components;
– To analyze the competitiveness of the idea;
– To analyze the playability of the idea.

Then there has been created a short plan for the following 3 days of a development.

At 3PM the main stage of a development began.
It was required:
– To create 3D models of an environment;
– To code the basics for a player behaviour;
– To code the basics for an enemy behaviour;
– To code the basics for a generator of the levels;
– To specify details of the gameplay requirements;
– To create a primitive PR-campaign.

It seems like the list is small, but it required a lot of time, unfortunately.

What have we received?
A prototype of a 3D arcade game with an unusual and original game mechanics and a stylish cartoon graphics. Right now the developed components are not combined into one scene, that is why the following video simply shows one of the game locations.
