Sumo Si – the bumpin game
I was really busy this last weekend and unfortunately could not sit down for the entire weekend and do what I love, make video games! Find my game here!
Tools used:
- Libgdx (Java game library with free type font extra)
- paint.net (Graphics)
- Eclipse Luna (Java IDE)
The good:
- Completed game in around 8 hours
- no crashing errors
- a “high score” that is really just a win counter
- somewhat realistic physics
- simple and efficient user interface
the bad:
- lack of time
- not very good controls
- the “high score” is a total win counter
- do not need to touch the controls to win
- no type of story
- no sound effects or audio
Overall I would say this is a pretty decent effort for my second Ludum Dare ever given that I was only able to work on it for about 8-9 hours! If I could redo this game I would make it a more single player based game and not a game that looks like it should be played by two players. Should I polish(include several different opponents and a single player campaign and “upgrades)” it up and send it into the google play store!
