%0 coolness?

This last fortnight has been hectic for me, leaving no time at all for playing Ludum Dare games. I made an effort yesterday evening though to play, comment on and vote for 20 games. However my coolness rating is still 0% :'(

Edit: looks like this was a bug: I talked to the organiser who reset the server, and I jumped up to 45% coolness. Here are my results :)

Kraken Pool Party Rating

Did this happen to anyone else?

Does anyone know how coolness is actually calculated?

I was up late voting for games on a work night so I feel a bit cheated :(

On a more positive note, here are my top three of those are played this jam. This may well not be your top three: I only played 20 remember ;)

1st place: Wormhunter

A game about hunting worms and/or being hunted. There’s a great feeling of tension and vulnerability, and the art and sound are just lovely.

2nd place: Kalahari Babysitter

3rd place: Darkvision

Very simple and little rough around the edges but I found this game’s strange universe very interesting. Or maybe I’m just an Oddworld fanboy ;)

Good job everyone who participated!

I’m pretty sure you need to get 20 ratings for your own game for it to place in the results. The best way to do that is to rate 20 games, to make sure yours remains on the front page for 20 other people to see it and rate it. If you only rated 20 games last night, it’s quite possible that you simply didn’t get enough ratings in time. :(
Also, I played your game. It’s really awesome! I loved using the ships to blow up the helicopters!

  2. You need to rate 100 or do games for 100% coolness from what I’ve seen

imabored2006: that’s possible yeah, I didn’t give it enough time probably. Also not everyone has a controller handy to play the game, so even amongst the people who looked at the game I might not have gotten that many actually results.

But even if I have too few votes on my game to have a score it would be nice to be credited as having participated in the feedback process (which I did). As it happens I just look like a jackass to anyone who consults previous Ludum Dares. I’d much rather have 0 across all categories that be the guy who doesn’t do his civic duty, it’s something I feel very strongly about.
