Restricted by the need to work, eat and sleep it was necessary to attempt to create the game in well under the 48 actual complete hours.

This seemed to form as much of our brief for the game as the theme and so it became as much about strict resource management as Beneath the Surface. As we took our time at the concept stage this meant we had a clear direction to aim for and thankfully everything went pretty smoothly in its creation – using Construct 2 our 2 man team split the work into design/ assets and programming/ sound.

Our game was designed to require limited assets and animation (using post production techniques to give them life) so we could concentrate on level design, mood and gameplay.

An excellent low stress game jam! Look forward to the next!
