Unity 2D

Thought some Unity fans might find it interesting to take a look at the new Unity 4.3, and its new built in 2D workspace. I’ve been messing around in it for a while now, and it is supremely awesome.

Looking forward to participating in the upcoming LD28 in December!

    I’ve never used unity before but I downloaded it a couple of days ago when I saw the 4.3 update.

    I loaded up that 2d demo and it looks pretty awesome. For collision can you literally draw and attach polygons onto your sprites. They are then free to rotate, translate and scale. You can make animations by recording positions of limbs etc and then bind that to velocity.

    I didn’t get as far as to see how all the scripting is called and how the game objects all iteract, but it looks very cool. I’m definitely going to have a play around with it in a couple of weekends. Looks very promising.
