Too ambitious

Well, I made good progress today, but not quite enough. I managed to get all the art and programming done, but I haven’t been able to make all the levels or add finishing touches, so I’ve decided to submit to the Jam tomorrow. Although I wanted to get in the comp, I would have had to hand in something unfinished and with only one level so I think it would be better to submit something better to the Jam instead. I am still happy with the stuff I have learnt and been able to achievement throughout this past weekend, I just chose an idea that was too complicated. Not too bad for my first LD though.

Some of the features I have implemented:

– Map read from txt file

– Player movement, collision and light

– Enemies, player health, player attack ability

– Powerups (chest and battery)

– Pickups (Various items, key etc)

– Particle effects

– Countdown Timer

– Cut scene/Sideshow for Story info


Left to do:

– Make Levels

– Finish Cut scene art

– Make menus pretty
