I’m in for LD26!

Ah, it feels good to get that off my chest. Greetings fellow LD jammers! It’s a privilege to be in your company again. LD23 was the last LD I was able to enter.┬áSince then, I became a father and life got way less predictable (but also quite fun!) Now things have stabilized enough for me to participate again.

Last time my kit was HTML5 and ClojureScript and they served me well. But, I’ve been developing for the Ouya lately so I’ve built some new tools that I’m enjoying.

Early Video of “Trucker”

I’ll be using my new in-house engine GGL (pronounced “Giggle”.) Follow the link to download the mac/windows/linux version of my warmup game “trucker” along with the source.

In more detail, this year my kit is:

  • C++ and Lua (via my GGL engine)
  • OpenGL (again via GGL)
  • Box2D (via GGL)
  • Spriter (which GGL supports)
  • Photoshop
  • Cfxr and my mic on sound fx

Last year I built a pixelated platformer. This year I’m planning to design something more action flavored and probably from a top-down perspective. I’ll be confining myself to a restricted palette because I’m not much of an artist.

I’m looking forward to seeing what everyone creates! Best of luck!
