Join us on GDC Wednesday (March 27th), 8:00PM at Tad’s Steaks, just after the IGF awards. 10 minutes from Moscone.
Thank you everyone! We all had a fantastic time. We hope to see you again next year. ![]()
Tad’s Steaks – 120 Powell St, San Francisco, CA
Tad’s is an inexpensive cafeteria-like steakhouse. The menu is simple but not very vegetarian friendly, so if meat is not your thing then you may want to eat before you come. We’ve reserved the upstairs area, which is a nice quiet place to hang out, chat, eat, and demo games.
Everyone is welcome. The venue is all ages. See you there!

Ack!! I really wanna come to this, but I’m already triple-booked as it is. I’ll see if I can make it happen.
Oh nice. I can totally make this.
Arrg! I’d totally go but its six hours away from where I live Riverside CA!
I could try, but I doubt you’d be stuck there for six hours.
Sorry
Definitely going to this!
I’d love to go! Will do my best to fit this in my schedule.
I’m there! Also I live in Stockton CA so if anyone is in the area, needs a ride up, and doesn’t mind hanging out in the city for like 10 hours until this thing starts, I’ll be leaving around 8:00AM to get there around 10:00AM for GDC. Just hit me up @dasrkrain on twitter if you’re interested!
Neat! We’re definitely going to be going to this.
hows your steak PoV?
see you guys there!
It was fun. Thanks!
It was great to have a low-key setting in which to meet people, and the food was good too! Thanks!
Thank you everyone for coming out!
It was super fun!!! We’re looking forward to it next year!
And it’s nice to have some faces attached to the name.
You come all the way to San Francisco, one of the food meccas of the country; and this is where you decide to eat?? Embarrassing and gross. Even Super Duper Burger would be better.
PoV must have his steaks. That takes priority over everything.
Ha, and I had a burger too.
Reasons include:
1. It started at 8 PM. Westfield closes at 8 PM.
2. It has a mostly private area we can hang out in, upstairs. Very little SF-raff to deal with.
3. It cost us nothing to reserve.
4. It’s very close to Moscone (10 minute walk).
5. The prices are reasonable. Most expensive thing on the menu is $15, and that’s the signature steak (Ugh, though it was good, my wallet regrets the $40 steak from around the corner).
6. No commitment to eat, since it’s “cafeteria like”. Come and go as you please.
7. Though it may not be the best food, the portions are big. You will leave full.
To me it’s about having the best venue for a gathering. No commitments for anyone. Stop by and chat, then go off to the crazy parties if you’re in to that. The fact that we can actually have a not-super-noisy place to meet and eat near Moscone is so great. Oh, and something I should probably plug more is they do have deserts too, for all those that choose to eat at other establishments.
